How To Use Google Assistant To Run Tasker Tasks

Tasker is a popular Android automation tool that allows you to automate various tasks based on virtually any trigger on your device. The app has had support for Google Assistant for a while now but it always required you to create a specific profile for each task or scenario which could be quite cumbersome. Thankfully, the latest update to Tasker has introduced native support for Google Assistant which now allows you to trigger any task using voice commands. Let’s take a look at how you can make use of this latest feature.

Run Tasker with Google Assistant

Tasker app v5.11.14 or higher: Play Store Link

Google Assistant-enabled

Region and language set to English (United States)

Note: Currently Tasker only supports the English language. The dev has promised to introduce support for other languages in future versions. Additionally, we recommend setting your region and language to English (US) as other localized versions of English with Google seem to be a hit or miss for now.

Let’s start by ensuring the proper permissions and language have been set for your Google Assistant. If you have already granted the necessary permissions and changed your region then you can skip the guide below and move to the next one.

1. Grant permissions and change locale for Google Assistant

Open the Settings app and tap on ‘Google’.

Tap on ‘Account Services’.

Now select ‘Search, Assistant and voice’.

Tap on ‘Language and region’.

Tap on ‘Search Language’.

Select ‘English (US)’ and go back to the previous screen.

Tap on ‘Search Region’.

Select ‘United States’ and go back to the previous screen.

Go back again and tap on ‘Google Assistant’ this time.

Switch to the ‘Assistant’ tab at the top of your screen.

Tap on ‘Languages’.

Tap and select your current language and change it to ‘English (US)’.

You can now close the current window. Open your app drawer and tap and hold on the Google app this time.

Tap on the ‘information’ icon at the top.

Tap on ‘Advanced’.

Tap on ‘Display over other apps’.

Now turn on the toggle for display over other apps. Once you are done go back to the previous page.

Tap on ‘Modify system settings’.

Turn on the toggle for ‘Allow modifying system settings’.

You can now close the app. Open the Settings app again and this time, tap on ‘Apps and notifications’.

Tap on ‘Advanced’.

Select ‘Special app access’.

Scroll down and tap on ‘Usage access’.

Ensure that usage access is allowed for the Google app.

If not, tap on the listing and turn on the toggle for ‘Permit usage access’.

And that’s it! Google Assistant is now all set up to trigger tasks within Tasker.

2. Trigger Tasker tasks via the Google Assistant

An existing task in Tasker that you can trigger.

The name of the task you wish to trigger.

Launch the Google Assistant on your device. You can either use ‘Hey Google’ or trigger it by holding down the home button.

Note: Launching Google Assistant could be different on your device depending on your OEM skew of Android.

Google Assistant should now automatically trigger the tasker task on your device.

Tasker Commands you can use with Google Assistant

Apart from ‘Run’, you can also prefix your task name with the following phrases to trigger tasks in Tasker.

And that’s it! You should now be able to trigger virtually any task using the Google Assistant.

Few examples of Tasker Tasks that you can use with Google Assistant

You can access the entire library using this link.

Note: Some of the profiles and tasks in this library are quite ancient and will not work with the latest version of Tasker. It would be a good idea to take the upload date into account before downloading a profile.

Google Assistant not working Tasker?

Well, make sure that you have language, region, and permissions set as required. See the guide above to set the region and language for Google Assistant and device first, and then be sure to provide proper permissions to the tasker app. That’s all. shall do it.

How To Use Google Assistant In Chrome On Android

Many Android users love the convenience of Google assistant. You can control smart home devices, play games, get important details, and much more. A new experimental feature allows you to enable Google Assistant in Chrome on Android to enjoy the voice assistant directly within the browser.

Benefits of Enabling Google Assistant

For most users, you’re probably already used to just asking Google Assistant a question by saying “Hey Google” or pressing the Google Assistant button on your Android device, if one’s available. Having it incorporated in your browser may not seem like a big deal.

However, Google is slowly adding Google Assistant functionality to as many existing Google features as possible to ensure easy access no matter what you’re doing. For instance, some devices already have Google Assistant integrated into the Gboard keyboard to aid in more accurate voice typing.

By enabling Google Assistant in Chrome on Android, you can search using Google Assistant versus just Android’s built-in voice recognition search software. This can lead to better accuracy for voice searches.

Before You Enable

There are three things you need to know before trying to enable this feature. At the time of writing, the feature is still experimental, meaning there could be some glitches. Also, it’s not enabled by default. If it goes over well, it’ll likely be incorporated into newer versions of the Chrome browser.

The feature is only available on Android devices for now. Even if you’re using Google Assistant on iOS, the feature is only compatible with Android.

Finally, you’ll need the latest version of Chrome for this to work. If you have an older version of Android, newer versions of Chrome may not be compatible with your device. I had to update to version 87.0.4280.141 to do this.

Enable Google Assistant in Chrome on Android

The Google Assistant feature in Chrome on Android involves enabling a flag. Chrome flags are experimental browser features. They come and go as new features are tested out. They’re a great way to try out new things before they’re fully released.

To access flags, open Chrome on Android and enter chrome://flags in the address bar.

This brings up all the current Chrome flags available.

Instead of scrolling, type “omnibox assistant voice search” in the search box at the top of the screen.

When the Omnibox Assistant Voice Search appears, tap the drop-down box below it. It’ll say “default” at first.

Choose “Enabled” or opt to add a grey or colorful mic. I went for the colorful mic.

You’ll need to relaunch Chrome for the changes to take effect. Tap the blue Relaunch button at the bottom right to relaunch.

When Chrome restarts, you’ll see a microphone in the Google search box. If you tap the omnibox or address bar to search, you’ll see the colorful mic (or whatever option you chose) to use Google Assistant.

Alternative Way to Use Google Assistant in Chrome

If you don’t want to go through enabling a flag, there is a workaround. Gboard keyboards have Google Assistant built in on newer devices. Others may only have Android’s voice recognition built in.

Tap the search box or address bar in Chrome to bring up your keyboard. Tap the microphone icon and then speak.

Whatever you say is entered into the search box. However, not all Android devices have this feature.

The good news is there is a possible new feature on the horizon that may enable nearly hands-free voice typing using Gboard. It’s just rumor for now but shows what the future might hold.

Hp Printer Not Printing Black – How To Fix?

You almost get a seamless printing service with the Hewlett-Packard printers.

Without any hiccups, it provides you an outstanding printing quality.

But sometimes you may encounter an HP printer not printing black in the middle of your important project!

The first reason you may think is that the printer is running out of ink. Many users have reported that it may not be the case.

So, through this article, I will try to find out the reason for this and provide you some handy solutions.

Even after there is enough ink to print, make sure that the printhead is cleaned properly. Otherwise, you have the troubleshooting option to do so.

Another important thing is to check that whether your HP printer cartridge is original, else the fake versions may not be compatible with your device.

Let us now explore some feasible ways to mend the HP printer not printing black problem.

Sometimes the nozzle of your HP printers gets clogged and you face the hp printer won’t print black ink trouble.

Therefore, it is very necessary to clean the nozzle quite a few times to get the desired print quality.

The technique to clean the nozzle varies from printer to printer. There is a Clean Printhead option available on the Control Panel.

Before you select the option, ensure that some paper is loaded into the printer. You can also go through the manual provided by the manufacturer for details.

Your Windows come with a Printer troubleshooter to fix the problem in printers especially when you face printer won’t print black problem. This might be really embarrassing in the middle of your work!

Here I am mentioning the detailed guidelines to execute the task. Follow the steps mentioned below:

For fixing up the printer won’t print black problem, you can choose the HP Print & Scan Doctor for fixing the issue.

This is a troubleshooting process specifically for the Hewlett-Packard printers. You will easily find this trouble-shooter while using this printer.

Follow the process mentioned below:

Check by printing now. Hope your printer is going to provide desired result now.

Check the ink levels on your cartridge as it may be out of ink. You can proceed to replace the black ink cartridge when facing the low ink problem during printing.

You can check by the exclamation mark provided on the control panel of the printer that indicates the ink level.

So, it is necessary to replace the black cartridge when it is low on ink and not necessarily completely out of ink.

Some users got immediately benefited after replacing their black ink cartridge. Check whether your problem is addressed following this process.

If you are having a third-party cartridge, it may cause some trouble with your HP printer. It may also raise the HP printer won’t print black ink issue. Make sure to use the original version of HP ink cartridges to avoid these sorts of trouble.

You can search with your model from the search box provided by the HP website for finding a compatible ink cartridge for your printer.

Beware of some fake HP ink cartridges and always make sure to scan the QR code provided.

You can also verify on the HP verification page by entering the serial number given on the label of your printer. Hope it will solve your problem.

Always make sure to check that the printer is properly calibrated. The printer will not give the desired result if it is not calibrated. Align its printhead and check whether this resolves the problem with black ink printing for you.

Besides the Hewlett-Packard printer comes with the option or tool to calibrate them properly.

After selecting the option provided, you can start to calibrate the printer and start printing an alignment page. Go through the printer’s manual for the details.

While checking the manual never forget to check the warranty period of your HP printer. In case you find that it is under the warranty period, you can return the printer as well.

So, I hope this article has helped you with some feasible solutions to solve the much annoying HP printer not printing black issue.

Does It Matter If Your Vpn Doesn’t Support Ipv6?

It’s a bit like landlines and mobile phones: you can call someone using either method, but IPv4 is the landline here, and it’s becoming outdated.

Today, both IPv6 and IPv4 are used alongside each other but are incompatible. Let’s say you’re connected to the internet on your laptop at home, your internet service provider (ISP) might assign you only an IPv4 address because it does not support IPv6 yet. This means you can only connect to websites that use IPv4.

That isn’t a problem for 99.9 percent of the time because virtually all websites still support the old protocol. They may also support IPv6, but it’s only websites which exclusively use the newer protocol that you won’t be able to access.

What does IPv6 have to do with VPNs?

Most VPN providers do not support IPv6 yet. If your ISP only gives you an IPv4 address, that’s not an issue at all because all the internet traffic will go through an encrypted ‘tunnel’ that uses the same IPv4 protocol.

However, if your ISP does support IPv6 (such as BT in the UK, or Vodafone in Germany) then your device will probably be assigned both IPv6 and IPv4 addresses.

Windows and other operating systems, plus software such as web browsers, are designed to prefer IPv6 when it’s available, so will use that protocol when you search for something on Google, for example.

If your VPN service doesn’t support IPv6 and you are connected to one of its servers, then one of two things will happen. In an ideal scenario, the VPN will successfully block all IPv6 traffic and force everything to use IPv4 where it will be protected.

However, what could happen is that the IPv6 traffic is not blocked and any web searches which use IPv6 will go via your ISP and not through the encrypted VPN tunnel. That means you get none of the protection that a VPN is supposed to give you, and you may not even realise it because – as far as you’re concerned – your VPN app is connected and running fine.

Which VPNs support IPv6?

CyberGhost,, Perfect Privacy and AirVPN are four examples.

Virtually all others, including NordVPN, ExpressVPN and Surfshark don’t yet support IPv6 but many are working on it.

Is it safe to use a VPN which doesn’t support IPv6?

It depends. If it’s been designed and implemented properly, there should be no risk of IP leaks where your IPv6 traffic is allowed to flow outside of the VPN tunnel, exposing your real IPv6 address (and in turn potentially your real location and identity).

That is, of course what all the non-IPv6-supporting VPNs say they do. They claim to fully block IPv6 connections and exclusively use IPv4. We test for this when we review VPN services by using websites such as chúng tôi to make sure our IPv6 address is properly blocked.

And, as you might expect.  VPN services which support IPv6 tend to say that they are the better choice because you’re fully protected no matter which device or ISP you’re using. There’s also a potential speed benefit because IPv6 networks tend to be less congested than IPv4 ones.

We spoke to’s tech lead Tomislav Cohar about this. He said, “Usually a VPN provider publishes an app and that app takes care of blocking IPv6, more or less successfully. That’s fine and does work, but incurs a penalty for the customer: IPv6 sites do not work, dual-stack sites (Google, Facebook and the gang) use only IPv4. DNS queries have to be filtered to make sure no IPv6 addresses get served to a customer. Such operations may be logged. However you put it, anonymity gets reduced, connectivity suffers.”

“If a VPN provider supports manual configuration (as most VPNs do) then manual configuration of a connection becomes dangerous. With no IPv6 blocking or leak protection going on (which is usually handled by the apps) your IPv6 traffic flows through your ISP. The customer’s security becomes severely compromised and any claims about protection do not make sense anymore.”

“In the UK, for example, the IPv6 adoption stands at 31%. So, roughly, every third customer of a VPN provider needs IPv6 protection of some sort.”

We also spoke to Surfshark, which doesn’t yet support IPv6 but is in the process of doing so. A spokesperson told us “At the moment we support IPv4 and we are blocking IPv6 for dual-stack customers to prevent leaks. This technique is safe and all traffic from customer devices is going via encrypted VPN tunnel utilising IPv4 connectivity. We are in the process of building a network of IPv6 VPN servers and will be adding IPv6 support to our apps in near future. Once we have IPv4 and IPv6 ready networks, our VPN apps will be creating VPN tunnels either on IPv4 or IPv6 connectivity, based on the customer’s device preference and block the other protocol to prevent leaks.”, however offers simultaneous IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, so there’s no blocking going on.

best VPN services.

However, if you’re already with NordVPN, Surfshark or another provider which doesn’t yet support  the newer protocol, you may find that you can log into your broadband router and disable IPv6 connectivity and then change the settings on your phone to do the same to eliminate the risk of IPv6 leaks.
