RAD – August 20th

This indie game lets you play as a teenager in a post-apocalyptic world, running around fighting anything you can find. What makes this game unique is how your character changes throughout the game. As you face off against different enemies, you will begin tot ake on your own individual mutations, giving you cool and hilarious new abilities.

Based around 80’s culture, this game is achingly cool while still retaining silliness that makes it endlessly entertaining. The gameplay trailer shown at E3 shows off some of the strange mutations you can enjoy, as well as giving us a glimpse of the beautifully colorful world the game is played in.

Dead by Daylight – Fall 2023

Prepare to scream, because one of my favorite horror survival games is making its way to the Switch this fall. Dead by Daylight lets you play as either a survivor or as one of your most loved bad guys from a multitude of horror franchises. Try and find a way to escape the killer’s evil clutches, or hunt down your prey until no-one’s left – the choice is yours

Dauntless – Winter 2023

After finding success on PC, PS4, and Xbox, Nintendo players are finally able to get their hands on this free-to-play MMO. You play as a Slayer, destined to keep the world safe from a crazy selection of monsters. Team up with friends or strangers to take on these Behemoths and customize your character by forging weapons and crafting armor.

Nintendo unveiled their gameplay trailer at E3 earlier this year and it looks like it stays pretty true to the other versions we know and love.

Inmost – 2023

Sometimes, all you want is to head back to the good old days when pixels were your friends and you could spend hours trying to beat puzzle levels of video games. Well, that’s exactly what you’re getting with Inmost. This spooky story-driven platform game pulls you into a dark interconnecting story as you try and escape an abandoned castle.

There are three playable characters to choose from, each of which has their own part to play in the game’s narrative, and the retro, pixelated style feels just nostalgic enough to keep you coming back for more.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – March 20th, 2023

It’s been a long time coming, but finally, Animal Crossing will be making its way to the Switch in Spring 2023. And it’s bringing with it a whole new world to explore, and new neighbors to meet. This time around, you’re on a deserted island, working hard to make it a lovely place to live. You can fish, craft, farm, and interact with pretty much everything around you – just as you’d expect from the franchise.

Sure, it might not have the flashy graphics or adrenaline-pumping action of some of the other games on this list, but it’s classic Nintendo. It’s warm and fuzzy and relaxing, and I for one cannot wait to get back to work for everyone’s favorite tanuki, Tom Nook.

Best Free Nintendo Switch Emulators For Windows Pc

The Nintendo Switch is a great gaming platform that outsells both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It is ahead of the Xbox Series X/S gaming consoles as well, and that’s not going to change any time soon. This device is home to some of the best games, but how can you play them if you do not own a Switch? Well, you can use a Nintendo Switch Emulator to play games on your Windows 11/10 PC.

Will I get a lawsuit for using a Nintendo Switch emulator?

Downloading and using emulators will not get you sent away to the slammer for the rest of your years. That’s because emulators are as legal as they come. However, it is illegal to share copyrighted material such as ROMs.

So, as it stands, you can face charges if you illegally download ROMs from any of the many sources on the web. You’ll need a way to get the ROMs legally, and that’s something you should research yourself. We will not, in no way, aid you in finding ROMs for the Nintendo Switch because were not interested in Nintendo breathing down or backs.

Best free Nintendo Switch Emulators for Windows PC

Emulators for the Nintendo Switch are available, but which is the best? Let’s take a look at some of the best free Nintendo Switch Emulators for Windows 11/10 PC:

NSEmu

CEMU

Yuzu

Ryujinx

1] NSEmu

When installing a Nintendo Switch ROM, the process should not be complicated in any shape or form. If you are using such an emulator, then we suggest using NSEmu, an open-source emulator that is free to download and install.

Users can expect their Switch games to perform very well on NSEmu since the platform comes with a lag-free experience all around. At the end of the day though, this program is still in development, so expect a few bugs here and there.

Download the NSEmu from the official website.

2] CEMU

The first emulator we want to look at here is one called CEMU. It is not a Nintendo Switch emulator, technically, but it is able to run games made for the Switch. The primary purpose of CEMU is to emulate video games made for the Wii U, but it does have the ability to run some Switch games.

We like CEMU because users can modify games with ease, and this is done via the launch settings. Furthermore, most supported games can be played at 60 FPS, but not only that, they can also be played with mods and the ability to change the rendering quality, shading, resolution, and more.

Download CEMU via the official website.

3] Yuzu

The first Nintendo Switch emulator to ever make an appearance on the web is no other than Yuzu. Similarly to some on this list, Yuzu is open-source and developed by Citra, one of the most popular Nintendo 3Ds emulators available right now.

From what we have gathered, this emulator is made in C++, and since this is the case, some Switch games will not work properly, Additionally, the performance of some games when played in Yuzu may not deliver good enough performance.

The good news is, the developer took the time to create a list of games that are compatible with the platform.

Download the Yuzu emulator from the official website.

4] Ryujinx

Finally, we want to take a look at Ryujinx, and like all others on this list, it is free to download, install, and use. It is also based on open-source code, and the platform overall supports Windows, Linux, and even macOS.

This emulator is filled with cool features that are perfect for new users of the platform. Now, it will not play all games available for the Nintendo Switch, but it does support over 1000 of them. Still, around half of that number plays as expected, or close.

We like this particular emulator because the overall experience resembles the Nintendo Switch, and this is the case even if games are being played on a desktop.

Finally, all games can be played at 60 FPS, and because the user interface is intuitive, we expect all users to have a good time.

Download the Ryujinx emulator via the official website.

Are Nintendo Switch emulators illegal?

No, emulators for the Switch are not illegal, in fact, no gaming emulator is. This is because they are a simple re-made version of the console. However, playing illegally obtained ROMs through emulators could land you in problems with the law, so always bear that in mind.

Has Nintendo sued for emulation?

Back in the year 2023, Nintendo of America filed a lawsuit against RomUniverse in which the company sought to obtain $15 million in damages for allowing ROMs of old Nintendo games to be downloaded via a website portal. In the end, the court system ruled that RomUniverse must pay a much smaller $2 million instead.

The single-player first-person shooter game Doom, which pioneered the genre, is gory. In 2024, the franchise saw a continuation of the story from Doom 3 in the 2024 game simply called Doom. It’s just as gruesome as the rest of the games and then some.

You play as a demon slayer on Mars who has to make his way through a facility to destroy beasts. The Switch version of the game is just as good as the other console ports, but make sure you have a Pro controller instead of the joy-cons. You can purchase the game for $39.99.

The Remastered version was made to update the original game’s visuals and improve the framerate, allowing for smoother play. If you want to get into the series for the first time, this action game is a great place to start. You can purchase Dark Souls for $39.99.

Meet all your favorite Nintendo characters from Mario games, Pokemon games, Zelda games, and more (including other franchises if you buy any of the DLC). This can provide hours of entertainment and frustration. Of course, the difficulty of this game depends on who you’re playing with. Still, the fighting strategies in the game can take a lot of skill to execute correctly.

There are lots of different modes you can play, whether you want to battle solo or have some friends to play a multiplayer game to battle each other or play in co-op. You can buy Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for $59.99.

Mortal Kombat is fun and a well-crafted fighting game with tons of unique characters with special combos to discover and use in your fights. The game can be bought for $49.99.

Diablo is a classic hack-and-slash and dungeon exploration game. You can choose from seven different classes, including a necromancer, wizard, or barbarian. You play by exploring and defeating creatures to level up your stats, and your end goal is to defeat Diablo.

If you enjoy dark fantasy games and want something that involves plenty of strategy, Diablo III for the Switch is fantastic. The Eternal Collection is also an exclusive console version of the game for the Switch, Playstation, and Xbox. Depending on what console you get the game for, you get some different items. The Switch version gives you a few Nintendo-related goodies, such as a Legend of Ganondorf armor set. You can purchase Diablo III for $59.99.

You can play Skyrim on nearly any gaming platform nowadays, and the Nintendo Switch is no exception. The game is an open-world fantasy RPG and is incredibly popular for the amount of freedom given to the player to really do whatever they want. The game’s main plot revolves around your character as a Dragonborn on a quest to defeat a dragon known as the World-Eater.

With the Nintendo Switch version of the game, you get some extras that may be familiar if you’re a fan of The Legend of Zelda. You can fight with a Master Sword, use a Hylian Shield, and dress in the Champion’s Tunic. Skyrim is the perfect game on the Switch to prove it’s not just for kids. You can buy Skyrim on the Switch for $59.99.

South Park is anything but kid-friendly, and this extends into its raunchy yet entertaining video game. The creators of the South Park show had a hand in making this game, so it really feels like a true continuation of the series.

You play as the New Kid, as in the previous game South Park: The Stick of Truth. This game focuses on the superhero characters created by the South Park children, which may be familiar to you if you’re a fan of the show. This game takes traditional RPG elements and injects humor throughout, and has the same trademark art style of the show, making this a unique and fun game to pick up. South Park: The Fractured But Whole goes for $59.99.

For fans of high fantasy games, The Witcher 3 is one of the best in its genre. You play as a character known as Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher. Throughout the available quests, you can take a few different paths in the game, resulting in one of three different endings.

Still, with the release of multiple mature titles for the console like the ones listed above, you can see the true versatility of games on the system.

Nintendo Switch Won’t Work? Possible Fixes

Last Updated on August 19, 2023

You can have endless fun on any games console, and in our opinion, the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic choice. It’s portable, and allows you to play on the go, but it can also be placed into a dock and played on the big screen.

So, nothing can be more frustrating than when your Nintendo Switch stops working, and you have no idea why it happened or how you can fix it.

If your Nintendo Switch won’t work, in this article we’ll discuss all the reasons why that may be, and – potentially – how to fix it.

Why Do Nintendo Switches Stop Working?

There are actually many common reasons why your Nintendo Switch may suddenly stop working. Let’s take a look at some examples!

Lack Of Battery Life

Sometimes, you’re just not charging your Nintendo Switch properly, meaning your battery has totally drained. When the battery of your Nintendo Switch is completely drained and you put it to charge, then it will take a while for the screen to light up.

This does not mean that the Nintendo Switch is broken, and provided you have put the Switch on charge correctly it will work fine in a few hours.

Problems With The Charging Cord

This is probably the most common problem with Nintendo Switches that won’t work. If you suspect the charging cord to be broken, try looking for damage to it, and invest in a new one should any damage have occurred.

Issues With The Firmware

Sometimes the software or firmware causes the issue. If you suspect it to be a firmware issue, then you will need to perform a force restart. If that does not work, then you will need to do a hard reset.

Hardware Failure

If none of the other issues appear to be present with your Nintendo Switch, then the only answer is a problem with the hardware. If this is the issue at hand, then the only thing you can do is take your Nintendo Switch to be repaired.

1

How To Fix Your Nintendo Switch

So, now you know the most common issues that may cause your Switch to stop working, let’s go through the ways to fix the console in more detail.

Step

1

Check The Charging Cord For Damage

The first thing you should do is check the charging cord for any damage or problems. It is inevitable that the charging cord will degrade over time, and this is particularly true if you play your Switch while it’s charging.

You should lookout for a bent adapter or pins, any fraying wires, or any exposed wires.

If you can, try to use an official Nintendo Switch charger, as these will last longer and will prevent any long-term problems with the battery from happening.

If you notice damage to your charger, then you must stop using it immediately and invest in a new one.

Step

2

Charge The Switch

This should be the second thing you try to do. If there is no sign of damage to the Nintendo Switch charger, you can go ahead and plug it into the console and let it charge for a few hours. It should charge with no issues and turn on after a few hours.

Alternatively, you can slot it into the dock, which has a charging port. Provided the charger is plugged into the dock, then the Switch should charge like normal.

Please note that the Nintendo Switch may take longer to charge if you do not have a Nintendo Switch charger, or if your charger is very old.

Step

3

Force Restart

If charging the Switch didn’t work, then it is best to try and enact a force restart. This will check for and fix any issues with the firmware. A force restart is when you press the power button in such a specific way that it forces the console to turn on.

Here’s how to do it:

Press and hold the power button (at the top of the Switch) for 12-15 seconds.

Release the button and then press it again 3 times in quick succession. The third time you press it, you need to hold it down until the switch turns on.

Now that the switch is on, you need to see if you can go past the home screen. If you can – great! If you can’t, then you will need to try and perform a hard reset.

Step

4

Hard Reset

This is also known as a factory reset. Here’s how you can do it:

At the same time, press and hold the power button, and the up+down volume button for 5 seconds.

Now, you will have entered “Maintenance Mode.” Here, use the Joy-Con to initialize the video game console and press “OK”.

Follow the simple, remaining instructions on the Switch screen to complete the factory reset, and then test the Switch to see if it will work.

Step

5

Professional Repairs

If your Nintendo Switch still won’t turn on, then you probably have a hardware issue and need to seek out a professional to get it fixed.

Final Thoughts

Your Nintendo Switch may not work for a variety of reasons, but we hope this article provides some answers and solutions so you’re no longer faced with a black screen, and your Nintendo Switch is up and running again.

How To Use The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls App

What can the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app do?

Nintendo

The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app offers a spread of tools beyond just limiting games based on ESRB ratings. The keystone feature is limiting playing time, which allows you to set an hour limit for each individual day of the week. This means you can set longer limits for weekends when children generally have less schoolwork.

You can also set age restrictions for each child and allow other games as you see fit. You can also remove the ability to buy new games for each user, which is helpful if you have your purchase information saved on the console. A handy overview shows which game each child is playing and for how long, and the app delivers a push notification each time your kids add a new game.

The app also allows you to control how children interact with others online, both in-game and when sharing on social media. And, of course, all of these restrictions are locked behind a PIN, so you don’t have to worry about your child adjusting the settings, even while using your phone.

How to set up the Parental Controls app

Setting up the Parental Controls app takes just a few minutes, but you’ll need both your phone and Nintendo Switch console handy before you start.

Install the Parental Controls app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Launch the app and log in to your Nintendo Account.

When prompted to enter a code, pick up your Switch console.

Enter the code from your phone, tap OK, then Register.

Your Switch console is now tied to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on your phone, and you can proceed to set limits on each user’s gameplay. The app may also prompt you to select a PIN, so be sure to pick something you can remember.

Once set up, the app is relatively intuitive and easy to use. Under the Console Settings tab, you can select Play-Time Limit or Restriction Level or see an overview of activity under the Time Played or Monthly Summary tabs.

On your Switch, tap the Parental Controls icon and enter an incorrect PIN six times.

After the incorrect PIN prompt, press the + or – button.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page where the Inquiry Number is listed. Do not leave this page.

Follow the prompts on the screen to enter your Switch serial number, Inquiry Number, contact information, and credit card info.

A master PIN will be generated to reset your forgotten Parental Controls PIN.

How to remove Nintendo Switch Parental Controls

Removing Parental Controls from your console is simple, and can be done from the console itself. If you don’t have the Parental Controls app installed on your phone, it’s swift and easy.

Enter your PIN.

Press the X button to delete all parental control settings.

If you have the Parental Controls app installed, there are a few more steps but it’s still relatively painless. You will lose play history and settings on your phone.

Select Unregister App and enter your PIN.

Select Unregister when prompted.

Nintendo Lists 13 Of The Most Common Causes Of Switch Damage

Here are the details of the 13 most common causes of damage to the Nintendo Switch.

1. Dropping on the floor or ground

Dropping the Nintendo Switch on the floor or ground can cause physical damage to the device, including cracks in the screen or casing. The device’s internal components, such as the battery or motherboard, can also be damaged due to the impact. Repeated dropping can cause cumulative damage to the device and eventually lead to permanent damage. Also, dropping the Nintendo Switch while it is turned on can cause the internal components to shift or become dislodged, which can result in malfunction or complete failure of the device.

2. Placing on a sofa or chair

If the Nintendo Switch is placed on a surface with soft cushioning such as a sofa, the device can overheat due to the reduced air circulation, which can cause damage to the battery or other internal components. Also, if the Nintendo Switch is placed on a surface with uneven or angled edges, it can lead to pressure being applied to the device, which can cause damage to the screen or casing. Also, if the chair or sofa is unstable, the Nintendo Switch can easily fall off and hit the ground, causing physical damage as discussed earlier.

3. Squeezed in a tight backpack Gizchina News of the week 4. Using the wrong wire 5. Forcibly plugging and unplugging the Joy-Con at the wrong angle

Forcibly plugging and unplugging the Joy-Con at the wrong angle can cause damage to the Joy-Con. It may also damage the Nintendo Switch’s rail system. The Joy-Con is designed to be attached and detached from the Nintendo Switch’s rail system in a specific way. Thus, forcing it in or out at the wrong angle can cause the rail to become misaligned or damaged. Repeatedly forcing the Joy-Con in and out at the wrong angle can cause cumulative damage to the rail system. This will result in difficulty attaching or detaching the Joy-Con or even rendering the rail system unusable. It can also damage the Joy-Con’s internal parts, such as the buttons or joystick, making them unresponsive or not working properly.

6. Rapid temperature change

Spaces where the temperature changes rapidly (once water droplets appear, turn off the power and place them in a warm room until the water droplets dry up).

7. Not charging for a long time

Not charging a Switch for a long time can cause the battery to completely drain. This can potentially lead to the battery’s degradation and affect its overall performance. Lithium-ion batteries, like the one used in the N. Switch, have a limited lifespan. They can only withstand a certain number of charge cycles before their capacity starts to degrade. Leaving the N. Switch unused for a long time without charging can cause the battery to discharge below a safe level. This can lead to total damage to the battery’s chemical content. This can result in poor battery life and longer charging time. In fact, it may even cause the battery to stop holding power. It should be charged at least once every 6 months

Other notable causes of the Switch damage are

8. Placing the Switch close to a humidifier will increase the humidity of the Switch and cause damage.

9. Touching the Switch with a wet hand

10. Touching the Switch game card slot terminal with your hands.

11. Pet’s saliva and urine can cause severe damage

12. Touch or use a cotton swab to clean the Switch cassette reading slot.

13. Removing the Joy-Con while the game is in progress
