Dead Age issues: game crashes, quests won’t launch and more

Dead Age is a challenging survival game where players need to manage survivors, craft materials, and make difficult decisions. The zombie outbreak puts your life in danger and the thought of permanent death will definitely force you to do your best to survive. Defend your camp against hordes of the undead and stay alert all the time because you never know when the next zombie army strikes again.

Unfortunately, many gamers have already reported various Dead Age issues, ranging from locked quests to game crashes. For the time being, there are no workarounds available to fix these bugs.

Dead Age reported bugs 1. Quest won’t trigger

In the past I remember it triggering in the earlier parts of the forest. This time I was in the 12+ areas and still nothing…

2. Early missions are too lengthy and health items too scarce

Players also criticize the overall game set up, and complain that health items are difficult to get and early missions take too long to complete, sentencing your companion to die before you reach your destination. Other players went as far as to say that the game is based more on luck, than on strategy.

All of my first missions are these “Date” missions that seem to have no end. If you skip the prologue, you begin with no medical supplies, no crafting supplies, no materials to buy supplies. Since there is no way to avoid damage, and given the length of the mission, your companion is doomed to die before your destination.

3. The game crashes

Expert tip:

You can sometimes find civialliens that stay after the battle and will fight in the next battles until they die. this is most likely a bug but not the real problem just a part of it. […] when i reached position 4 with a wave fight the game broke. nothing happens after the fight just an event picture with the open truck but no options to select from. this is the secound time this happend and i’m just playing an hour.

4. Audio bugs

Players also report that all attack command audios are only on the left speaker. This configuration is fine with range attacks, but not with melee attacks. When using headphones, this can get really annoying because gamers hear audio only on one ear. This becomes even more bugging when the action takes place on the right side of the screen.

5. Controller issues

Dead Age’s developers added controller support only recently and already rolled out an update while the game was still in beta to fix certain controller bugs. However, some gamers report they can’t accept the pop-up “Gamepad is active and mouse is deactivated.”

The controller support was the only reason i bought the game. The first message in the menu was a popup “gamepad is active and mouse is deactivated…. ok” all i have is my controller and i can not accept this message, ok i connected via remote to my pc and tried to deativated this message than i received a new message ” mouse is active controller deactivated” I tried every button on my x360 controller but i can not accept the popup 🙁

Windows 10 Build 14955 Issues: Unresponsive Apps, Edge Crashes And More

Windows 10 build 14955 issues: unresponsive apps, Edge crashes and more

Microsoft just released the new build 14955 for Windows 10 Preview. The new build is available to all Insiders on the Fast Ring on both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

Build 14955 doesn’t bring any noticeable feature to Insiders who installed it. On the other hand, it solves some of the previously known issues and bugs and brings a few more system enhancements. And just like every Windows 10 build, build 14955 also causes some issues of its own.

Microsoft already listed some of the issues affecting Windows 10 build 14955, but as you probably know, that’s not an accurate report as there are many more issues affecting users.

We checked out Microsoft’s forums to look for problems reported by actual users, and we found some issues that Microsoft didn’t list under ‘Known issues’. In this article, we’re going to let you know about the issues we’ve found and try to find solutions for at least some of them.

Windows 10 build 14955 reported issues

As always, we start off our report article with the installation issues, reported by users all over Microsoft’s forum. But this time, it looks like Mobile users are much more affected by installation issues than their peers on PC. As Microsoft already acknowledged and addressed this issue, we’re not going to talk about it in this post. If you’re having problems with installing the latest build on your Windows 10 Mobile device, check out this post.

The fact that mainly Mobile users experience build installation issues doesn’t mean PC users don’t. However, it looks like very few Insiders have encountered this problem on PC, so we can finally say that Microsoft delivered a build that’s not so hard to install. Here’s what two users who actually have installation problems say:

I had the same problem with 14951 which I could not get passed. I have run the Windows Update Troubleshooter several times but still it hangs.  Any suggestions???

My system got to 80% of the installation process and then failed. A restart of the system triggered a roll back. Any recommendations on how to get it installed?

Microsoft actually acknowledged this issue by saying those who have a third-party antivirus program installed on their computers might face build installation errors. But since various things can prevent a new build from downloading and installing, we’ve decided to mention this problem in our post.

Expert tip:

One Insider complained on the forums of problems with the Feedback Hub app in build 14955. Apparently, the Feedback Hub doesn’t work anymore and when uninstalled, won’t install again. Here’s what the Insider who reported this issues said:

Fortunately, another user had a proper solution for this problem. If you’re facing this issue as well, uninstall the Feedback Hub from the Settings app and then install it from the Store once again. If you’re not sure how to do that, we’ve prepared a set of instructions for you:

Open the Settings app

Once the app is fully uninstalled, head over to the Windows Store, search for the Feedback Hub, and install it once again.

Another user reports he’s unable to find homegroups in Windows 10 build 14955. Here’s what he said:

Insider Preview computer can no longer find existing homegroup. Homegroup still exists and other 2 computers on 14393 are still functioning normally. Any suggestion ? Other than removing them and starting again ?

Unfortunately, no one from the forums had a proper solution for this problem. We have an article about problems with finding a Homegroup in Windows 10, so if you’re facing this problem as well, check it out.

Issues with web browsers are quite common in the last few Windows 10 builds. It looks like web browsers still don’t work properly for some Insiders on build 14955. This time, one user reports that Internet Explorer randomly crashes when he tries to open a certain web page.

Surface Pro 3 Build 14955 . Internet Explorer seems to be having some issues. The below error is with home page set to chúng tôi I also get the same message if I try to open a link in Facebook.

Unfortunately, no one had a proper solution for this problem, but a few more people confirmed they have similar problems. This is a sign for Microsoft to pay more attention to browser stability in Windows 10 builds, and deliver a permanent fix soon.

Paladins has become quite popular over the course of a few months. Players love the new characters, game mechanics, and of course the fact that the game is free to paly.

However, not everything is a bed of roses in the Paladins universe. According to various players, the game is plagued with various bugs and issues. More or less annoying. To break it down for you, we’ve gathered some of the most common issue reports, and included them in this article.

So, if you’ve been experiencing some issues while playing Paladins, we want you to know that you’re not alone. Also, if you haven’t played the game yet, you should keep these in mind.

Paladins reported issues Invisible crosshair

“Sometimes, when i reload, my crosshair goes invisible and then reappears with my next reload. This might be gamebreaking for some players. Let’s hope they fix it.”

Other people from the thread suggest that pressing the Tab button solves the problem. Additionally, they also suggest one extra reloading, however there’s an ongoing discussion about whether that one extra reload could cost you a game. We’ll let you decide whether that’s correct or not.

Not receiving awards

Another player says he’s unable to receive rewards for winning games:

“Im not recieving any rewards for winning games, not exp, not gold, etc…. Im playing casual ina party with 2 friends, one of them is having the same problem, the other one not….”

HirezProxyLaunch has stopped working

Apparently, there’s a major problem with the “HirezProxyLaunch has stopped working” error, which prevents players from launching the game. There are numerous reports about this issue all around the internet. People have tried various solutions, but the problem still appears.

“Every time I try to launch Paladins, I face an immediate error popup saying “HirezProxyLaunch has stopped working”, with subtext saying the usual “Windows is checking for a solution to the problem…” just for the popup to close out on its own with no actual solution found or suggested.”

SMITE players had to deal with the same issue recently. However, the solution that helped them is not useful in this case. So, we’re sure players would like to know what’s going on.

All skins got unequipped

Some players have problems keeping their skins equipped on their characters. According to one player on the forums, skinks constantly get unequipped. Unfortunately, no one has a viable solution for this problem so far.

“Failed to initialize assembly file” error message

There’s another error that prevents players from opening the game. One user has reported the “Failed to initialize assembly file” error message, that appears every time he tries to launch Paladins.

“Guys Pls Help me once i try to open paladins this error message appaer “failed to initialize assembly file”  Help Me PLS”

Another player from the threat suggests that verifying the game cache resolves the issue, but nobody else confirmed this solution.

Unable to watch Replays

Expert tip:

“Hey guys i wanted to watch a replay from my game but its just saying “” What to do?”

Unfortunately, we only managed to find more and more issue reports, but no confirmed solutions. So, it looks like the majority of players is experiencing the issue, but no one actually knows how to resolve it.

Login issues

We’re not done with launching issues. This time, one player says that he’s unable to login into the game.

“I can access the launcher, Pressed “Play”, Then Paladins came up, “Logging in”, Then “Loading Your Profile” Comes up and does not take me to the main menu. I have restarted Steam and no effect.”

Unfortunately, no one answered the thread, so the solution for this problem still remains unknown.

Audio problem Mid-game crashes

And finally, one player says that he experiences crashes mid-game, because of the server issues.

Anyone else get crash? Or only me?”

Once again, no one had a proper solution for this problem, so we can’t tell you more about it.

That’s about it for our list of the recently reported problems in Paladins. If we take the number of reports into account, it looks like the game desperately needs a new patch.

But don’t get us wrong on this one, we still think Paladins is a great game, worth your time. It’s just that some players might get more lucky with issues than others.

Rocket League Won’t Launch – 23 Quick Fixes

There could be a few reasons why your Rocket League won’t launch on your PC.

Fatal Application Error, random DLL errors, Runtime Errors, Error Codes, it seems like there’s no end. Sadly, these are common problems in both Steam and Epic Games. Apart from not launching, Rocket League could also crash or fail to detect your controllers.

You can approach all of these issues with the solutions we offer. The crashing may be fatal, and the reasons varied. Yet, fixing the multiplayer game is easy.

Causes Why Rocket League Won’t Launch on PC

In general, either your PC’s hardware, software, or game files could be the culprit when Rocket League won’t launch on your Windows PC.

Here are the possible causes:

The game files may be corrupted

There’s a dll file causing the error

The Steam Overlay feature is crashing the game

There’re wrong Command-Line Arguments (Epic Games only)

The Update .NET Framework is out of date

The DirectX 11 is out of date

The C++ Package is out of date

Your antivirus may be preventing the game’s launch

The GPU may be overheating

Your GPU’s drivers may be out of date

Rocket League doesn’t has the permissions it needs

There’re compatibility issues

Your hard drive may be corrupted

Third-party apps or mods are breaking Rocket League’s rules

Your PC doesn’t meet the requirements to run Rocket League.

How to Fix Rocket League Won’t Launch on PC?

We’re going through a series of fixes. You can run down the list until you find the solution that works for your case.

Our fixes mostly cover Rocket League for Windows. However, you may find solutions as a Linux or macOS user as well.

Verify Game Files on Steam

Verifying the files on Steam often fixes the issue when Rocket League won’t launch. It works because it cleans corrupted files.

Open the Steam app

Go to your Library tab

Select Properties

Close the tab when the process finishes

This is a fairly common fix for Steam users, as the game left the store in September 2023. However, Steam users can still play and update the game, but the files may suffer from corruption issues.

Verify Game Files on Epic Games

Similarly, you can verify the integrity of the Epic Games files and see if it fixes the problem. Once again, it can fix corruption issues.

Open the Epic Games launcher.

Go to your Library tab

Delete the Game’s Cache

The game’s cache file may also be corrupted, and it’s a common reason why Rocket League won’t launch. So, you need to erase the cache.

Go to Rocket League’s folder

This is the fix you should try if you’re getting NTDLL error or Runtime Error. These indicate corrupt Rocket League save files.

Rename the Rocket League Folder

The most common fix is renaming the Rocket League file. It’s a trick to make Epic Games or Steam verify and clean its files.

Open File Explorer

Go to Documents

Open My Games

Find your Rocket League file

Rename it “Rocket League old.”

Launch Rocket League

This doesn’t work if the documents are on your OneDrive. You’d need to unlink the folders to make it work.

Delete the chúng tôi File

The chúng tôi file may appear in Rocket League’s game folder. If it’s there, it’s the reason why Rocket League won’t launch. You need to delete it:

Go to Rocket League’s folder

Disable Steam’s Overlay Feature

Sometimes the Steam Overlay feature can be the reason for the trouble. You can disable the function and see if it fixes the problem:

Open the Steam Client

Go to the In-Game tab

Uncheck the Overlay boxes

Disable the Command Line Arguments (Epic Games only)

Command Arguments are additional parameters you can supply to a game launch. It’s a complex feature, though, and there could be an issue with the ones you’re using. A random bug may also add Command parameters.

Here’s how to disable it:

Open the Epic Games launcher

Scroll down to Rocket League on the Settings menu

Uncheck the Command box

Update your DirectX Software

You need to run DirectX 11 to play Rocket League. If the game crashes on launch or goes to a black screen, try updating the software.

Update the Microsoft C++ Package

Rocket League, on Windows PC, needs Microsoft C++ packages to run. You can try reinstalling the package to solve the issue.

Go to this page to download the latest software.

Scroll down to “Visual Studio 2024, 2023, 2023, and 2023”

Download the correct version you need. The options are for ARM64, X86, or X64 architecture OS. Check the FAQ if you don’t know which architecture you’re running. Mine is X64.

If you’re getting “.DLL” errors, this is the solution you should try.

Update the Microsoft .Net Framework

If Rocket League won’t launch, you may need to update the Microsoft .Net Framework. It’s software that allows different programming codes to communicate within your PC.

Currently, the game needs Version 6.2.2 or newer to run. Here’s how to download the update.

Go to Microsoft .Net Framework 4.6.2 site.

Download and run the program.

Restart your computer after the install finishes.

Update Windows

An easier way to update everything you need is by letting the Windows Update software do its job:

Type Windows Update in the search bar

If need be, let your system update, and restart after you finish

Perform a Wide System Check

If you’re getting errors like  MSVCP140.dll or VCRUNTIME140.dll, you may need to perform a comprehensive system check of your Windows system.

Type CMD on the search bar

Type sfc/scannow

When the process finishes, restart your computer and try opening the game again.

Allow the Anti-virus to Run the Game

It could be that your antivirus software believes the game is a virus. So, it’s preventing your PC from launching the title.

The process of allowing the antivirus to run the game varies per antivirus. I recommend you check on Google how to exclude a game directory from the antivirus. In other words, you need to add Rocket League to your antivirus’ exception list.

However, I will guide you on excluding the game from Windows Defender, which I use. You’ll probably find similar reasons.

Right Windows Security on the search tab

Open Windows Security

That way, the antivirus won’t scan anything from the folders or files you select. You’ll find a similar option on the antivirus. If you can’t, try disabling the software when you play Rocket League.

Lower your GPU’s Temperature

If you’re noticing your PC heats up during the game, it may be the cause why Rocket League won’t launch.

There’s software to see your PC’s temperature. If you don’t have such a program, you can measure your computer’s temperature by touching the chassis or laptop.

If you think this is the problem, there’re various things you can do:

Buy new fans for your PC

Buy a new CPU cooler

Buy a cooling pad for your laptop

Clean your laptop or PC from dust

Undervolt your PC

Update your GPU’s drivers

Your graphic card drivers need to be up to date. As it fails to get its updates, it may encounter issues launching games, like Rocket League.

However, through Windows, you can update either with the same process.

Type Device Manager on the Windows search bar

Open the Device Manager

If you see two graphic cards on Display adapters, simply repeat the process for both options. This is in case you don’t know which card is running the game.

Restore the Default Graphic Settings

If Rocket League opens but crashes back to the desktop, try the following steps.

Open Rocket League

Go to Video

Go to Default

Select Apply

Run the Game as Administrator

You may need administrator privileges to open the game. The title can use all its features with high integrity, therefore running properly.

Go to the game installation folder.

Check OK

Run the game and see if it fixes the problem.

Fix Compatibility Issues

Rocket League may be incompatible with your system, as the original title was released for Windows 7. Here’s how to change compatibility to fix the issue:

Go to Rocket League’s folder

Go to the Compatibility tab

Check the Run as Administrator tab

Press Ok

If it doesn’t work, you can try Windows 7 compatibility. In particular, this is the fix you can try if you’re getting the Fatal Error message.

Disable Third-party Apps and Mods

Rocket League won’t launch if the third-party apps or mods you’re using break the game’s rules. These rules are:

Third-party software must not expose content or features in Rocket League’s code

The software must not abuse or exploit the game’s service.

If you’re using the game on Steam, the app will launch Error Code 51. Alpha Console, for example, is a common crashing cause.

Close Unnecessary Apps

Some computer programs may conflict with Psyonix’s game. You need to close unnecessary apps to perform a clean startup:

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager

Go to the Processes tab

For example, close programs that need bandwidth (like chat clients such as Discord), web browsers, streaming services, and other games. Be sure not to mistake an app process with an essential function, though.

In particular, applications like Geforce Experience or MSI Afterburner may cause a Fatal Error.

Set the Game to High Priority

Similar to above, you can set the game to High Priority on the taskbar, so your Windows runs Rocket League before anything else.

Open the Task Manager

Go to the Details tab

Go to Set Priority on the drop-down menu, and select High.

Reinstall the Game on Another Hard Drive

The problem may rely on your hard drive. If you have a PC with two hard drives or more, try uninstalling the game and reinstalling the other hard drive.

Then, you can perform the CHKDisk function to perform a thorough clean of your computer’s drive.

Your System Doesn’t Meet the Minimum Requirements

Lastly, the issue may be that your system doesn’t meet Rocket League’s system requirements or at a bare minimum.

OS: Windows 7 or newer

CPU: 2.4 GHz Dual Core

Valheim Won’t Launch Or Open On Windows 11/10

Here is a complete guide that will help you if you are unable to launch or open Valheim on your Windows PC. Valheim is a popular survival multiplayer video game. While the game works fine for most, some users have complained that Valheim won’t launch or open on their PC.

If you are one of the users unable to play the Valheim game as it won’t open, this post is for you. In this post, we will be discussing the fixes that will help you resolve the problem. So, let us check out.

Why Valheim is not launching on PC?

Here are the potential causes why Valheim might not open on your PC:

One of the primary causes of the issue at hand is that your PC might not meet the minimum system requirements to play the game. Hence, ensure that your PC meets the minimum requirements.

Missing admin rights can be another reason for the game to not launch. So, run the game with admin rights and check if the problem is resolved.

Another reason for the game launch issues with Valheim could be corrupted or missing game files. In that case, you can try verifying the integrity of your game files to fix the problem.

It could also be caused due to outdated or corrupted graphics drivers. Hence, if the scenario is applicable, try updating your graphic driver to fix the problem.

Launching the game in fullscreen mode can also cause the problem at hand. So, try using the windowed mode to run the game to fix the issue.

If you have enabled the in-game overlay feature on Steam, it can also cause the issue at hand. If the scenario is applicable, disable Steam overlay.

Your antivirus might be blocking Valheim and thus, it might not open. So, disable your antivirus and see if the problem is gone.

Valheim won’t Launch or Open on Windows 11/10

If Valheim won’t Launch or Open after update on startup in Windows 11/10, here are some working suggestions to help you.

Ensure that your PC meets Valheim’s minimum requirements.

Try launching Valheim as an administrator.

Verify integrity of game files.

Update your graphics driver.

Try launching the game in windowed mode.

Disable in-game overlay on Steam.

Turn off your antivirus.

1] Ensure that your PC meets Valheim’s minimum requirements.

OS: Windows 7 or later, Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

Processor: 2.6 GHz Quad Core or similar

Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: GeForce GTX 950 or Radeon HD 7970

DirectX: Version 11

Storage: 1 GB available space

OS: Windows 7 or later, Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

Processor: i5 3GHz or Ryzen 5 3GHz

Memory: 16 GB RAM

Graphics: GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580

DirectX: Version 11

Storage: 1 GB available space

If the above system requirements are fulfilled and still Valheim won’t open, try the next potential fix to resolve the problem.

2] Try launching Valheim as an administrator

If the Valheim game is not launching, you can try running it with administrator privileges to fix the issue. In most cases, this method works as the problem is usually caused due to missing admin rights to run an application. So, run the game launcher as well as the game with administrator rights and see if the issue is fixed. Here are the steps to do so:

Firstly, open Task Manager and close all the running Steam processes.

Now, go to the Compatibility tab and checkmark the Run this program as administrator option.

Next, repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 for the Valheim executable.

Finally, relaunch Steam and try running Valheim to see if the problem is resolved.

If the game still refuses to launch, there might be some other cause triggering the problem at hand. So, you can try some other fix to resolve the issue.

See: Wolcen Lords of Mayhem crashes and not launching on Windows PC.

3] Verify integrity of game files

If your game files are infected, corrupted, or there are some game files missing, the game won’t open. Hence, make sure your game files are not broken. You can do that by performing an integrity check on your game files on Steam. Let’s check out how.

First, open the Steam desktop client and press the LIBRARY option to open your games list.

After that, let Steam verify and repair your game files.

When the verification is finished, try reopening the game and check if the issue is resolved or not.

If Valheim still not opening, try the next potential fix.

4] Update your graphics driver

One of the significant causes of game launch issues is your outdated graphics driver. If you have an out-of-date graphics driver on your PC, you might experience the problem at hand. So, make sure you have up-to-date GPU card drivers.

Another good idea to download the latest graphics drivers is to visit the official website of the device manufacturer. You can even try a free third-party driver updater to automatically update the graphics driver.

Once your graphics driver is updated, reboot your PC and try launching the game to see if the problem is fixed. If the scenario is not applicable, you can move on to the next potential fix.

5] Try launching the game in windowed mode

As per some user reports and analyses, Valheim might not launch in fullscreen or borderless mode. Hence, you can try launching it in windowed mode and see if the problem is fixed. This workaround has proven to be effective for many affected users and might just work for you as well. Here’s how to do that:

Next, in the Properties window, scroll down to the LAUNCH OPTIONS section under the GENERAL tab.

Inside the box, type -windowed -noborder and exit the Properties window.

Finally, try opening the game and see if it launches or not.

6] Disable in-game overlay on Steam

The in-game overlay feature can cause the issue at hand. So, you can try disabling the feature to fix the problem. You can try turning off in-game overlays on Steam using the below steps:

Firstly, open the Steam client.

After that, move to the In-game tab.

Next, uncheck the Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game option.

Finally, try launching the Valheim game and check if the problem is resolved.

Read: Generation Zero not launching, freezing, or crashing at startup on PC.

7] Turn off your antivirus

In many instances, the problem is caused if your antivirus is blocking the game from opening. It happens due to a false positive alarm. If the scenario is applicable, you can try disabling your antivirus for some time and check if the game opens or not.

In case you are able to launch Valheim after disabling your antivirus software, you can be sure it was the main culprit. Now, you might not want to disable your antivirus during the gameplay. So, you can add the game to the Exclusion or Exception list of your antivirus suite.

Why isn t my Valheim working?

If Valheim is not working or keeps crashing, it could be due to missing admin rights to run the game. So, you can try running the game as an administrator. Apart from that, the issue could also be caused due to infected game files, using an outdated game version, antivirus interference, or outdated graphics drivers. It can also occur if your game’s installation is corrupted. Hence, you can try reinstalling the game to fix the problem.

Why is my Valheim server not showing up?

If the servers are not showing up in Valheim, it could be because you have not selected a community server. So, choose a Community Server and play the game on the dedicated server. Besides that, you fix the issue by updating your network driver or temporarily disabling your antivirus.
