Halo 5 is a popular First-person Shooter (FPS) game with several modes and exciting features. It has a tremendous user base and is the first choice of a large section of the gaming community. But many wonder if Halo 5 supports crossplay.

Given the massive appeal and popularity, one would expect Halo 5 to be cross-platform, but the answer comes as a surprise to many. So let’s find out.

Does Halo 5 have crossplay?

No, Halo 5 doesn’t support crossplay. As per recent reports, while the team has not outright denied the idea, there are no immediate plans for it. So, Halo 5 won’t support crossplay, at least in the foreseeable future.

But if you are looking for an alternative, Halo 5: Forge is the best option on Windows. The Forge mode is not new. It has existed in Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One since its release. It lets you forge levels and invite users from the friend list to play in the Custom game mode.

Is Halo 5 on PC?

Halo 5: Guardian is currently available only on the Xbox platform and not on Windows PC. And it wouldn’t be listed for download on PC for some time now, given the company’s denial of any plans to do so.

What are the requirements to play Halo 5: Forge on PC?

First, let’s see if your PC meets the system requirements for playing Halo 5: Forge on your rig. So we’re listing the required specifications below:

➡ Minimum specs

CPU: Intel Core i5 @ 2.3Ghz or AMD FX 6350

Memory: 8 GB RAM (2 GB VRAM)

GPU: AMD R7 260x or GeForce 650 Ti

HD Space: 40 GB

DirectX 12

➡ Recommended specs

CPU: Intel Core i5 [email protected] 3.4Ghz / AMD FX 8150

Memory: 12 GB RAM (4 GB VRAM)

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 380 / GeForce GTX 970

HD Space: 40 GB

DirectX 12 4K

➡ Ultra specs

CPU: Intel Core i7 [email protected] 3.4Ghz / AMD FX 9370

Memory: 16 GB RAM (4+ GB VRAM)

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 Fury X / GeForce GTX 980 Ti

HD Space: SSD + 40 GB

DirectX 12

Supported OS: Windows 10 Anniversary (v.1607) or newer

How can I get Halo 5: Forge on PC for free?

With a download size of 31 GB, Halo 5: Forge on Windows supports resolutions up to 4K and has an online multiplayer mode that lets you invite your friends as long as they are also on the Windows. Plus, it even lets you change your keyboard control bindings.

How do I use Halo 5 crossplay?

Expert tip:

Ability to create content: The most exciting feature is Halo 5 is the ability to create content using powerful tools in the game creation suite.

Content shared across platforms: The content you create on Windows using Halo 5: Forge or on Xbox One using Halo 5: Guardians is shared across both platforms. That means that whether you play the game on Windows or your Xbox console, there will be the option to play the same levels.

Can’t play at the same time: Although you get to play the same levels, you won’t be able to play Halo 5 at the same time as Xbox users.

Support for mouse and keyboard: While the Xbox controller remains the first choice for many, with Halo 5: Forge on Windows, gamers can finally use their keyboard and mouse to play the game.

Halo app comes bundled: When you download Halo 5: Forge, it comes bundled with the Halo app, which offers the latest developments on the platforms, video tutorials, community content, update notes, and a lot more, all in one place.

What more should I know about Halo 5: Forge?

Halo 5: Forge on Windows 10 also comes with all of the original 15 pre-made Arena maps, essentially giving you much of the Halo 5 multiplayer for free. This also means you can host your own custom Arena matches as well and invite your friends for a game.

It’s not all dandy! There are quite a few issues still with the PC release. To name a few, there are quite a few people with mouse input latency issues and frame rate capped at 60 at the moment. And there is no way to find a game since there is no server browser or matchmaking.

Even the interface – while modified for PC – was originally designed for consoles and thus has massive thumbnails and large text.

Halo 5: Guardians cross-platform play

Even if you can’t cross-play Halo 5: Forge on PC and Xbox, you can do so with Halo 5: Guardians.

The Anvil’s Legacy expansion introduced the Content Browser that allows both Xbox One and PC gamers to join custom matches in progress, pretty much like a server browser.

Until then, there is a Discord servers website where like-minded PC players seem to have gathered to organize a few matches themselves.

Many users are complaining that the gameplay is very different on PC from the Xbox console, and the reasons are pretty obvious. That is why not many players want to mix the two worlds together, and the PC multiplayer servers are pretty deserted.

That’s all there’s to Halo 5 crossplay on Windows and Xbox, and by now, you should have a fair understanding of how it works.

Also, if you are a fan of PC games, discover some quick tips and tricks to boost Windows gaming performance.

Everything We Think We Know About The Htc M8 / Htc One 2

Keep in mind that everything below is a rumor and should be taken as such. With that said, some of the leaks come from fairly reputable sources, not the least of which is the leaker extraordinaire @evleaks, who has been spot on in the past and has been following the HTC One 2 for a while now. Still, everything here should be taken with a grain of salt.

The Name:

First, we are almost certain that the final name of HTC’s upcoming flagship phone will not be the HTC M8. The M8 is supposedly the internal codename for the device at HTC. That isn’t hard to believe because the HTC One was codenamed the HTC m7.

There are several names besides the HTC m8 that have been floated around the internet. The HTC One+ and the HTC One 2 are the most common. The HTC One 2 name, for as awkward as it sounds, just got a bunch of credibility. GSMarena is reporting, just hours ago, that a French governmental website, meant to let users check their phone’s compatibility with their 3G network, has “HTC One 2″ listed as a selectable device.

Not exactly a confirmation, but it is the biggest hint yet of what the device might be called.

The Screen:

The HTC One had a 1080p 4.7 inch S-LCD3 screen that was called “gorgeous” by critics. To follow it up, HTC appears ready to make a jump in screen size, to 5 inches. That has been nearly confirmed by several image leaks that seem too common to be completely false.

The Hardware:

The aforementioned @evleaks is responsible for this rumor. The phone is expected to house the Snapdragon MSM8974, AKA the Snapdragon 800. The Snapdragon 800 is a quad core CPU that can be clocked up to 2.3Ghz. The HTC One had a Snapdragon 600 quad core CPU that could be clocked up to 1.9Ghz. In addition to the @evleaks tweet, the Snapdragon 800 has shown up as the CPU in several purported HTC m8 AnTuTu scores that have floated around the web.

Gizchina News of the week

Join GizChina on Telegram

Thanks to @evleaks and those aforementioned AnTuTu stats, we also (think) we know that the HTC One 2 will sport 2GB of RAM, just like its predecessor.

As for the battery, there have been some numbers floating out there, a 2,900mAh being the most common, but we have yet to see anything definitive or even convincing.

The Camera:

Cameras have always been a big part of HTC phones, even before the HTC One. So it should come as no surprise that the HTC One 2 / HTC m8’s camera has had a myriad of rumors swirling around it.

HTC’s Ultrapixel technology has given it an edge over its competitors. While on paper its phones have weaker cameras than their competitors, in practice they perform admirably.

The most recent rumors have the phone sporting two Ultrapixel cameras on the back end to give better resolution and depth of field. Previous rumors have it sporting a 10MP “Ultrapixel” camera with swappable lenses. And others still had the HTC ImageChip 3 being debuted with the phone.

None of these rumors are contradictory necessarily, but it is unlikely all of them are true. It would simply be too expensive. Regardless of which of them are true, it seems clear that HTC is putting a lot into its next flagship phone’s camera.

The Build:

Like the HTC One, the HTC One 2 / m8 is expected to have a case made of molded metal. HTC’s CEO said that all their upcoming flagship phones would be designed in this way, so this “rumor” is almost certainly true. It is also backed up by the leaked images of alleged HTC One 2 / m8 cases.

Looking at those images, it seems clear that HTC isn’t changing much from its original design, other than increasing the size.

What should make it stand out from the HTC One however, is its heavily rumored Sapphire fingerprint scanner. This seems likely as the HTC One MAX (the slight upgrade of the HTC One) featured a fingerprint scanner.

Software:

The HTC One 2 / m8 is expected to run Android 4.4 (Kit kat) and HTC’s update on its custom skin, HTC Sense 6.0.

Neither comes as a surprise. The Kit Kat update has been rolling out to HTC One users early this month, so it wouldn’t make sense to ship their next phone without it. Additionally, it just makes logical sense for HTC to showcase its next custom skin on hardware designed specifically to run it.

Reveal and Release Dates:

Many were hoping to see the phone at last month’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but that ended up not being the case. The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is a good bet, but as ubergizmo points out, HTC may reveal it a week early. The recent appearance on that French Government website seems to add credence to that.

As for when we will actually get to buy the HTC One 2 / m8, rumors have had the phone coming out in the 1Q of this year, and that still seems likely. The HTC One was originally released in March, which would be an ideal time to launch its successor.

Is It Possible To Sneeze While You Are Sleeping?

Have you ever sneezed so loudly in the middle of the night that you’ve woken yourself up? Think about it. The answer is likely no. In fact, many sleep researchers and neuroscientists think it’s essentially impossible to sneeze while you sleep.

First, a caveat. To date, there doesn’t seem to be any published studies that questioned whether we sneeze during our sleep. Instead, physiologists and sleep researchers have attempted to answer this question based on our current understanding of how our brains and bodies work while we sleep.

“As far as I know, I don’t think people sneeze during sleep,” says sleep researcher Steven Shea, director of the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at Oregon Health and Science University. “I’ve studied hundreds of people sleeping, and I’ve never witnessed anyone sneezing during sleep…but, I’ve never provoked them, either.”

Shea recalls a story which suggests this hypothesis may be true. He once saw a boy with a chronic cough. “He was coughing probably every 10 to 15 seconds of his waking life,” Shea says. But, the boy’s parents told him that the child would stop once he fell asleep. “True enough. I was looking at his brain waves and as soon as he went into the lightest state of sleep, his coughing stopped. And then he would wake up in the middle of the night, cough again, but then he would fall back to sleep and not cough.”

Shea has some guesses as to why that boy stopped coughing—and why we don’t sneeze—in our sleep.

For one, while in bed, many of us are exposed to fewer things that’ll make us sneeze. There aren’t as many people or pets kicking up dust in the dead of night when we’re catching up on our needed zzz. And for those of us who experience the photic sneeze reflex—sneezing when you see the sun or other bright light—chances are, you’re sleeping in a darkened room.

With non-REM sleep, it simply takes more to penetrate into our subconscious. In non-REM sleep, explains Shea, there’s a lot more filtering and suppressing going on. For instance, getting tapped lightly on the hand doesn’t register as strongly in your brain when you are asleep as it does when you’re awake. You can actually see this effect on an EEG monitor. When sleeping human subjects are tapped on the hand, they will produce less electrical activity than if they were tapped with the same strength while awake. (It’s probably why you sometimes have to violently shake someone to successfully wake them.)

During slow wave sleep, a type of non-REM sleep, the thalamus and the cerebral cortex (the brain’s relay station and the outer, folded portion, respectively) activate each other to keep things quiet in our brains. “The thalamus and the cerebral cortex are in this dance,” Shea says, “where they’re controlling each other, and it’s sort of blocking the sensory input.” However, Shea points out that this relationship doesn’t block things completely, it just makes it tougher for stimuli to get through.

“But the beauty of sleep is that it’s almost immediately reversible when there’s a dangerous situation,” Shea says. If there’s a strong enough stimulus (like the smell of smoke or obstructive sleep apnea), it can pierce through that sleepy, muted stupor and wake us up. Shea reckons that if we were to sneeze in the middle of the night, it would be because some external stimulus that typically causes sneezing would wake us up first, and then we would sneeze.

Sleep consultant Don Watenpaugh, vice president of the Texas Society of Sleep Professionals and member of the Sleep Research Society, agrees. “The brain can’t sleep and actively listen, see, smell, [and feel] at the same time,” says Watenpaugh. “However, if a sensory stimulus is strong enough, it can wake us up. This includes things that make us sneeze.”

REM sleep, on the other hand, prevents sneezes in a potentially different way. During REM sleep, while we’re dreaming of flying on dragons or fighting bad guys, our brains put our bodies on lockdown to keep ourselves from actually acting out our dreams. “A sneeze is a big coordinated muscular activity,” says Shea, but because of that REM-induced lockdown, “some of those muscles are semi-paralyzed,” and the ability to sneeze nearly impossible.

Instead, Watenpaugh says, we might just incorporate the sneeze-inducer into our dreams: perhaps you walk through a jungle thick with cobwebs, or compete in a mad dash through a dusty Ancient Roman track. Sleep tight!

Oneplus 5: Everything You Need To Know About The Mid

The OnePlus 5 is a major improvement over the 3 and 3T, but nearly all of the changes are on the inside. That means you’re getting the same display as last year at a higher price. So while it’s still a good deal, it’s not quite the killer bargain it was last year. There’s a lot more to it, so read our review for the full details.

The OnePlus 5 was released in June 27, 2023, and is available for purchase through OnePlus’s website . The gray model with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM costs $479, and the black model with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM will set you back $539. Like OnePlus’s other handsets, the 5 won’t be available through carriers, though OnePlus is calling it a “true world phone,” with support for 34 networks across the globe.

And it looks to be a formidable competitor. Packing the fastest processor around in the Snapdragon 835, up to 8GB of RAM, a 3,300mAh battery, and dual cameras, the OnePlus 5 fills out the spec sheet for less. Here’s everything you need to know, including our full review of the OnePlus 5.

The original flagship killer is back with, well, another flagship killer. After weeks of leaks and rumors, OnePlus has released its sixth handset, the OnePlus 5, and it has the major Android players in its sights: the LG G6 , Galaxy S8 , and HTC U11 .

Updated 08/07/17: The OnePlus 5 is now available in gold. See the Display and Design section below for the full slate of color options.

OnePlus 5 display and design

At 7.25mm thick, the OnePlus 5 is the thinnest phone OnePlus has made. It has moved the camera to the upper-left corner like the iPhone rather than keeping it centered, and the antenna lines remain, meaning the back is made of aluminum and not glass.

Christopher Hebert/IDG

The OnePlus 5 looks a lot like the iPhone 7 Plus from the back.

Around the front, OnePlus has resisted the bezel-trimming trend. It looks almost exactly like the 3T, with the same 5.5-inch Full HD 1920×1080 resolution display and pill-shaped home button/fingerprint sensor. Thankfully, it also still has the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom edge of the device and an alert slider on the left side. It is available in three color options, depending on options. Both models are available in a slate gray color, but to get it in soft gold you’ll need to choose the 64GB model, while the 128GB version is available in an exclusive midnight black color.

OnePlus 5 performance and battery

While the battery is smaller than the one in last year’s 3T, it’s more than big enough to get through a full day of use. Plus, the 5 uses OnePlus’ proprietary Dash Charge system to power up quicker than its competitors. However, since the OnePlus 5 has an aluminum back, it doesn’t support wireless charging like the S8 and G6.

OnePlus 5 camera

OnePlus

The OnePlus 5 features dual 16MP and 20MP sensors.

The system brings Fast AF and Smart Capture that will let you take shots instantaneously while filtering out noise and inconsistencies in low-light situations, as well as improved HDR and a portrait mode that simulates a depth of field. It also features 1.6x optical zoom (up to 8x when combined with the digital zoom) and a pro mode that includes a tiny histogram so you can fine-tune the pixels. Notably neither lens features optical image stabilization.

IDG

In bright sunlight the OnePlus 5 (left) focused quickly, but the images were a bit too cool. The LG G6 (center) went in the other direction, and the Pixel (right) was spot on.

OnePlus 5 OS

The OnePlus 5 runs OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Previous iterations haven’t strayed too far from stock Android, and the OnePlus 5’s version is no different. But there are some new features.

OnePlus

OxygenOS doesn’t mess with Android too much, but there are some changes.

As you use it, it will learn your habits and prioritize your apps accordingly on a new quick-launch area of the Shelf. A Do Not Disturb mode just for gaming will block notifications and disable the soft buttons for an uninterrupted experience. Secure Box lets you lock up documents, photos, and videos behind a fingerprint- or pin-protected folder. And a new Reading Mode will optimize the display in apps like Amazon’s Kindle reader to make words easier on your eyes.

FAQ What happened to the OnePlus 4?

There’s a reason OnePlus has jumped from the 3T to the 5. In Chinese culture, the number four is considered unlucky, like the number 13 in the U.S. This is due to the Chinese phonetic pronunciation of the number four being like the word for death and suffering. Many elevators in China skip the fourth floor, much like U.S. hotels often jump from floor 12 to 14.

What’s in the box? Are there any cases available?

Yes! Just like its previous phones, OnePlus is selling a series of case available in faux wood, carbon fiber, and sandstone. Additionally, there’s a flip cover and an official Otterbox case in black or red.

Can I bring an SD card?

Sadly, no. While there are two nano SIM slots in the SIM tray, the OnePlus 5 doesn’t support SD cards for storage. So you might want to splurge on the bigger model if space is a concern.

How does Dash Charge work?

OnePlus supplies a proprietary cable and a plug that is needed for Dash Charging. But since the OnePlus 5 doesn’t support the Quick Charge standard on the S8 and LG G6, if you don’t use the supplied cable and plug, the phone will charge as normal.

I’m a Verizon customer. Will it work for me? Is it true that calling 911 will cause the phone to reboot?

There were a few reports on Reddit that OnePlus 5 users who dialed 911 in the U.S. or 999 in the UK, and had their phones reboot rather than place a call to emergency services. It doesn’t seem to have been a widespread problem, and OnePlus acted quickly to pinpoint the bug. In a statement, the company said, “We have been in touch with the customer and have tested a software update that has resolved the issue. We will be rolling out the software update shortly. We will be rolling out the software update shortly.” Users have reported the update is already hitting their phone. If you have a phone that is affected by the issue, you can contact OnePlus support at [email protected] or (858) 609-6590 for more information.

Airpods 2: Everything We Know About The Followup To Apple’s Truly Wireless Earbuds

AirPods were originally released in December of 2024, which means it has been over 2 years since they first hit the market. The truly wireless earbuds from Apple have proven to be incredibly popular, and supply has remained constrained through much of their lifespan.

Now, reports of AirPods 2 are starting to gain traction. Read on as we recap the rumors and expectations for AirPods 2…

Updated with new design and launch date rumors, as well as new wireless charging case speculation.

Health Features

Apple’s focus on health is increasing at a rapid pace. Last month, the company launched ECG support on the Apple Watch. Further, platforms like Health Records continue to expand. Speaking to CNBC recently, Tim Cook touted that he believes Apple’s “greatest contribution to mankind” will be health-related.

Thus, with all of that said, it only makes sense for Apple to add health-related functionality to one of its most popular products: AirPods.

A report from Digitimes this week said that Apple intends to add health monitoring functionality to AirPods 2 this year. What exactly this means is unclear, but the idea has been floated before. Bloomberg reported last year that Apple had considered adding biometric sensors to AirPods. Apple was also granted a patent last month showing how an interchangeable AirPods design could add biometric functionality.

Apple Watch and iPhone already offer their fair share of health-related functionality. It shouldn’t be too big of a shock to see Apple continue pushing health features with AirPods.

Design

When they were first released in 2024, AirPods were widely mocked for the extra-long stem and bright white design. Since then, however, the design of AirPods has become somewhat iconic, especially as they have become increasingly popular with the general public.

In December, Ming-Chi Kuo reported that AirPods with an “all-new design” were slated to launch sometime in early 2023. This week, however, Digitimes reported that in order to add the aforementioned health features, 2023 AirPods will feature a new design.

It’s possible that Digitimes and Kuo are referring to two different things. Apple could be planning a minor redesign this year to accommodate biometric sensors, and a major refresh in 2023.

Bloomberg reported last year that Apple was developing a water-resistant version of AirPods. Currently, AirPods don’t offer any form of water resistance, something that could add to their functionality for workouts.

Other than that, it’s unclear how Apple might change the AirPods design, but many users have called on Apple to make them available in different colors, such as jet black or space gray. Additionally, it’s possible Apple will be able to reduce the size of each bud, but that’s speculation at this point.

Update 2/16: New reports indicate that AirPods 2 will feature a specialized grip coating. Ideally, this will help the wireless earbuds better stay in your ears without changing the actual form factor. Further, supply chain reports indicate AirPods 2 will be available in a new black color option.

Hey Siri

Earlier this week, Apple released the first beta of iOS 12.2, and we quickly spotted a setup interface for “Hey Siri” support that’s integrated directly into AirPods. Currently, if you want to use Siri on your AirPods, you have to activate it by tapping on one of the earbuds.

With integrated “Hey Siri,” however, you would be able to use the trigger phrase and have Siri respond directly in your ears. This enables completely hands-free use of Siri while using AirPods.

Wireless Charging

Alongside the iPhone X in 2023, Apple announced its now-infamous AirPower wireless charging mat. In conjunction with that charging mat, Apple said it would release a wireless charging case for AirPods. Like AirPower, the wireless charging AirPods case is nowhere to be found over a year later.

However, Ming-Chi Kuo predicted last month that Apple’s wireless charging AirPods will come during the first quarter of 2023. Further, recent supply chain reports have suggested AirPower is alive and nearing production. This implies wireless charging AirPods in 2023 seem almost certain.

With a wireless charging AirPods case, you’ll be able to simply place your AirPods on a wireless charger to power it. Ideally, AirPods will be based Qi charging so you can use them with any charger, but it’s also possible wireless charging will be limited to AirPower, much like the wireless charging tech in Apple Watch.

Connectivity

AirPods are powered by Apple’s W1 chip, but Apple has since started using its W2 chip in recent Apple Watch models. It seems all-but-certain that AirPods 2 will support the W2 chip, as well as Bluetooth 5.0.

These connectivity upgrades would give AirPods improved range, speed, and more. You’ll be able to move farther away from the device to which your AirPods are connected, and hopefully experience even faster pairing and playback.

AirPods 2 Price and Release Date

As with most Apple products, predicting the price of AirPods 2 is hard. Supply chain reports are generally not accurate when it comes to details like price and branding. That’s no different with AirPods.

Currently, AirPods sell for $159. When you consider the utility and how often you use them, that’s not an insane price at all. As for AirPods 2, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see Apple increase the price. A Bloomberg report last year even suggested Apple is working on a more “premium” version of AirPods.

As far as a release date goes, Digitimes reported this week that Apple will release AirPods 2 during the first half of 2023. Further, given the references to AirPods 2 found in iOS 12.2, it seems likely they will be released in conjunction with the public version of iOS 12.2.

Update 2/16: Generally reliable source Onleaks says AirPods 2 won’t be available until the fall of this year. The wireless charging case, however, is said to be available in the spring – perhaps coinciding with the launch of AirPower.

Wrap up

AirPods 2 have big shoes to fill. AirPods are incredibly popular and have gained mainstream success over the last two years. Apple is seemingly planning to add new health features, wireless charging, connectivity features, and more to AirPods 2, but specific details remain unclear.

Is It Possible To Bypass Two Factor Authentication For Icloud?

A strong password is the first step to securing your online accounts from unauthorized access. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection. Two-factor authentication in iCloud or Apple ID is a permanent action. Once you set up or use 2FA in your iCloud account, there’s no going back. The security mechanism cannot be turned off, deactivated, or disabled—either temporarily or permanently.

You’ll need to provide a six-digit verification code after entering your password whenever you sign in to Apple ID on a browser or new device. 2FA codes are sent to your phone number and devices connected to your Apple/iCloud account. But what happens when you lose your phone or Apple device?

Table of Contents

It can be difficult to access your iCloud account without 2FA, but it’s not impossible. In this tutorial, we’ll show how to bypass two-factor authentication in iCloud.

How to Bypass Two-Factor Authentication iCloud

As mentioned earlier, It’s not impossible to bypass iCloud’s two-factor authentication. However, the process can be quite daunting and time-consuming. To access your iCloud account without a 2FA code, you’ll need to prove to Apple that you own the account.

All you need is your email address, phone number, and your iCloud credit card details. You may need to initiate an account recovery process if you don’t have this information.

Add Another Trusted Phone Number

Adding a new phone number to Apple ID is one easy way to regain access to your account. You aren’t exactly bypassing the two-factor authentication system by doing this. Rather, you’re creating a new medium to receive 2FA codes.

This is the easiest way to access your Apple account if you lose the (primary/old) phone number where you receive 2FA codes.

Add Trusted Phone Number on iPhone or iPad

You can only add a trusted phone number from an Apple device linked to your Apple ID. Here’s how to add a trusted phone number from an iPhone or iPad:

Go to your Settings and select your Apple ID name, and select Password & Security.

Select Edit in the “Trusted Phone Number” section, select Add a Trusted Phone Number, and enter your iPhone or iPad’s passcode to continue.

Select your country code and enter your phone number. Apple will send a verification code to the number you provided. Select how you want to receive the code (Text Message or Phone Call) and select Send.

Enter the verification code and wait for Apple to link the phone number to your account. You should now get 2FA codes on the new number when you attempt to sign in to Apple ID on the web or unrecognized devices.

Add Trusted Phone Number on a Mac

Follow these steps to add a trusted phone number to your iCloud account on a Mac desktop or computer.

Select the plus icon.

Enter your Mac’s password and select Allow.

Select your country code, enter your phone number in the dialog box, select how you want to verify the phone number (text message or phone call), and select Continue.

When you next sign in on the web or a non-Apple device, you should get a 2FA code on the newly-added trusted phone number.

Provide Credit Card Information

Your credit card details may get you access to your iCloud account, especially if you can’t access your trusted phone number(s) and Apple devices.

Select Didn’t get a verification code? on the two-factor authentication page.

Select More Options.

Enter the phone number that receives the two-factor authentication codes and select Continue.

This helps Apple confirm that the iCloud or Apple ID account truly belongs to you. If you don’t remember the phone number, you’ll need to either reset your Apple ID password or initiate an account recovery process. Jump to the # section to learn more. Otherwise, proceed to step # to continue to recover your Apple ID.

Select the Continue button and Apple will proffer recovery solutions based on your selection.

If you select “Is your device offline?”, Apple will list steps to get a verification code from devices connected to your iCloud account.

Selecting the “Can’t use your phone number?” option will refer you to the page with instructions to update your phone number on Apple devices.

You’ll have to recover your Apple ID if you no longer have your phone number or Apple devices. Select Continue in the “Don’t have access to any of your Apple devices or your phone number?” section, and follow the prompts below.

Select Continue anyway to proceed.

Apple will send a verification code to your email address. Enter the code and select Continue. Otherwise, select Can’t use this email address? if you use a different email address. You’ll be prompted to enter details of the (credit) card connected to your Apple ID.
