Suggested December 2023 How To Add Icloud Email To Outlook On Windows And Android

If you have iCloud email, you’re not limited to using it only on Apple devices. You can also access and operate your iCloud email account on Windows or Android using an email client such as Outlook.

Good to know: learn how to use Microsoft Outlook rules to manage your inbox better.

Create an App-Specific Password

To use your iCloud email on Windows or Android, your first solution is to visit chúng tôi and sign in to your account. This will grant you access through the browser and allow you to send email and read your inbox. However, you will not be able to receive notifications of new emails and enjoy a total email experience through the browser.

Sign in to your iCloud email using an email client, such as Outlook. You’ll need to first create an app-specific password.

Press the “Sign in” button and log in with your Apple ID.

Label your new app-specific password. For instance, you can call it “iCloud Windows.”

Enter your iCloud password again to confirm.

Your app-specific password will be generated right away, and you can use it to sign in to Outlook on Windows.

Tip: if you want to respond to emails from another account, you may find it useful to set up automatic forwarding in Outlook.

Add iCloud Email to Outlook on Windows and Android

The process of signing in to iCloud email using Windows is easy. Enter the email address and the app-specific password you’ve created in the previous section.

When you’re asked to enter your password, use the app-specific password you created. If you forget it, you will need to create a new one.

You will see a success message, and Microsoft will send a test email to make sure everything works as it should.

You will see the iCloud folders and can manage them freely.

Using the same method, you can add your iCloud email account to the Outlook app for Android.

Start by pressing on the icon next to “Inbox” at the top to reveal a side menu.

                          Tap on the Settings icon.

Select the “Add mail account” button.

Sign in with your iCloud email account and respective app-specific password.

In most cases, you will need to confirm using an OTP that will appear on your iPhone, so keep it close while doing this.

FYI: it’s easier to add your password when you can actually see what you’re typing. Here’s how to see a password in your browser instead of dots.

                              Revoke App-Specific Passwords

Revoking an app-specific password will immediately prevent access to your iCloud email from a third-party inbox. To do this, follow these steps:

Go to “App-Specific Passwords” to view all your passwords.

Frequently Asked Questions Why doesn’t my regular iCloud password work when signing in?

If you’re signing in to an app or service outside the Apple ecosystem, you have to create and use an app-specific password instead of your Apple ID password. This typically applies to using iCloud email on different platforms and email clients.

Do I need an Apple device to create an iCloud account?

No. You can navigate to chúng tôi on any platform and create your own Apple ID with no requirement of an Apple device. However, this will rely on your existing email address (Gmail, for example) and will not give you an chúng tôi email.

Outlook 365: Block Email Addresses And Domains

Blocking specific email addresses and domains are essential to controlling the amount of junk mail you get in Microsoft Outlook 365. If you don’t know the process, learn here how to block emails in Outlook in simple steps.

Microsoft Outlook email app and web version come with the necessary user interface elements and automated rules so you can block unwanted emails effortlessly. However, the methods vary slightly as Microsoft upgrades its software or web app appearance. Thus If you upgraded to the modern versions of the Outlook desktop app like Outlook 2023, Outlook 2023, Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Outlook for Mac, you may want to know how to block domains, email addresses, marketing emails, phishing emails, etc., the right way. You can add email addresses and domains to the block list by using the following methods.

How to Block a Domain in Outlook Desktop and Web

It’s better to block the whole junk domain rather than block individual emails. Because the sender of the promotional or phishing emails can create unlimited emails on the same domain and keep disturbing you. When you block the malicious domain permanently on the Outlook app, they can’t bother you again from the same domain.

Here’s how you can block domains on the Outlook desktop app. The method works for most of the Outlook editions until Outlook 2010.

Select the Home tab from the Outlook ribbon.

Now you see the Junk Email Options dialog box for your synced Outlook or other email accounts.

The default tab selection should be the Options tab. Navigate to the Blocked Senders tab.

Here, you can enter domains or emails in the following formats:

Let’s say you’re using the online version of Microsoft Outlook like Outlook on the Web (individual or free subscription) or Outlook Web App (business subscription). For these cloud apps, here are the steps to block domains in Outlook:

Sign in to Outlook Office or Outlook Live email.

Select the View all Outlook settings link at the bottom of the sidebar that opens.

Now, you should see the Junk email dialog box on the right side showing options like Blocked senders and domains, Safe senders and domains, and Filters.

Enter domains, emails, website addresses, etc.

How to Block Emails in Outlook Desktop and Web

Suppose you just need to block one sender on the Outlook 365 desktop app, here are the steps you should follow. Doing this regularly will create a database of a blocked email list but the process is manual. The steps are similar to earlier Outlook desktop apps like Outlook 2023, 2023, 2023, etc.

A context menu will open up with many options.

Hover the cursor over the Junk option to open another context menu.

There, select Block Sender to blacklist the selected email.

If you’re getting abusive or offensive emails from someone in your Outlook contacts, then the above action won’t stop those emails. In this situation, first, you need to block the sender by following the above steps. Once done, perform these steps so that Outlook doesn’t trust the email address in the future:

Go to the Junk Email Options dialog box (find the steps above).

Navigate to the Safe Senders tab.

Uncheck the checkboxes for the following option:

Also trust emails from my Contacts

Outlook usually trusts the email addresses in your Outlook contacts and doesn’t block those. However, the above steps should override this behavior of the Outlook desktop app.

If you’re on the Outlook web app and want to block specific emails, follow these steps:

How to Block Email Addresses and Domains on Outlook Mobile App

Users around the world downloaded the Microsoft Outlook mobile app from Google Play more than 500 million times. And on the App Store, it received ratings from more than 5.5 million users. These numbers indicate that users like to use the Outlook app more on smartphones and tablets rather than on PCs and Macs. If you’re also in this category, then you may definitely want to learn how to block emails in Outlook mobile app or block domains on Outlook.

At the time of writing this article, Microsoft doesn’t allow you to block senders or domains using the Outlook mobile app, either on Android or iOS. You can only add one or more emails to the Junk email folder. Later on, you can sit in front of your PC or Mac to add those Junk email senders to the Blocked Senders list. Here’s how it’s done:

Long press the email in question.

Tap the Move to Folder option.

                              Now, choose the Junk folder.

On your PC, access the Junk Email folder on Outlook desktop or web app.

Follow the steps mentioned earlier on how to block emails on Outlook.

Block Domains on Outlook Using Rules

There’s a more intuitive way of blocking unwanted emails from email addresses, domains, and websites on Outlook desktop or web app. In this method, you can utilize the Outlook Rules feature to automate the domain or email address blocking process. Here’s how you can do it on your Outlook 365 (similar to Outlook 2023, 2023, etc.) desktop app:

Open the Outlook desktop app and go to the Home tab on the ribbon menu.

On the context menu that shows up, select Create Rule.

Now, you must see the Create Rule dialog box.

Here, you can choose various actions depending on the causes mentioned below:

When I get email with all of the selected conditions: From Domain Name or Sender, Subject Contains, Sent to, etc.

With specific words in the body

With specific words in the message header

With specific words in the sender’s address

Specific words in the body: enter words like discount, offers, hurry up, free giveaways, etc., words you think could be on a phishing or spamming email

Specific words in the message header: enter words like discounts, promotions, etc.

Checkmark the Move it to the specified folder option in Step 1.

Hit the Next button on the Exceptions window if you don’t want to add any.

Create a name for the rule.

                              Checkmark Turn on this rule.

You can follow the above method to block popular email domains if you get many abusive, phishing, or promotional emails from such email domains.

How to Block Emails in Outlook for Mac App

You’ll also find almost all the email addresses and domain name blocking features on the Outlook for Mac app as you saw in the case of the Outlook 365 for Windows app. Here’ are the options you can try:

Choose OK on the Block sender? warning to finalize the action.

If you got a list of email addresses and domain names you want to block using the Mac app for Outlook, then follow these steps:

Now, select the Junk Email Preferences option.

Email and Domain Blocking on Outlook: FAQs I have performed these steps but it doesn’t work for me. Why isn’t Outlook blocking the messages?

Open the “Junk E-mail Options” screen and check under the “Safe Senders” tab to ensure the email address isn’t listed there. If an email address you wish to block is listed in your Contacts, uncheck the “Also trust e-mail from my Contacts” box on this screen.

How To Add ‘Material You’ Weather Widget On Android 12

Google just released Android 12 recently and whether you hate it or love it, one thing is clear; Material You is the standout feature in this year’s Android release. Material You is Google’s way of letting users generate custom colors based on the wallpaper they choose and apply them onto the system UI, Google apps, and other supported third-party apps on Pixel phones.

Over the past few months, Google has been adding Material You support to Gboard, Google Search, and Clock and now, the company has released new weather widgets for the Google app on Android 12. In this post, we’ll explain to you how you can add Material You-based weather widgets to your home screen on Android 12.

Android 12: How to add ‘Material You’ Weather Widgets on your home screen

The latest version of the Google app on Android now has the ability to extract colors from your wallpaper and apply them to its new weather widgets, which are available in two styles – a 4×2 rectangular box with rounded edges (previously a 2×2 squircle box) and another 2×2 oblong pill. The squircle weather widget shows the current temperature (in both numerical and symbol form), location, and max/min temperature for the day. The oblong-shaped widget, on the other hand, only shows you the current temperature in number format and its relative icon.

Before you add the ‘Material You’ Weather Widget on your home screen, you’re required to update the Google app on your phone to the latest version from the Play Store. Once that’s done, long-press on an empty portion of your Home Screen, and select the ‘Widgets’ option from the overflow menu.

You should now see the Widgets popup menu on your screen, showing a list of all the widgets that can be added to your Android 12 Home Screen. Here, scroll down and tap on ‘Google’.

Inside this section, you’ll find four different widgets, two of which are the new weather widgets.

You can choose from either of these 2×2 widgets and apply one by dragging it onto the desired portion of your home screen.

Once you drop the selected widget to the home screen, you can drag it around to a preferred location. When you lock into a specific location, tap anywhere else on the screen to place them.

When you add a weather widget to your Android 12 Home Screen, it will look like this.

With dark mode, the weather widget will apply a darker background with bright-colored text.

Here’s how the 2×2 oblong pill-shaped weather widget will look on your home screen.

New Widgets and options (October 26, 2023)

Google first released the Material You weather widgets with Google app beta 12.41 and there’s already a new version of the app in Google (beta) app version 12.42. The latest version of the app brings more customization options which you can use to add other types of weather widgets to your home screen. In addition to the two 2×2 sized widgets, Google has now added 5 more Material You-based widgets to showcase the weather on Android 1 taking the total to up to 7 weather widgets.

However, you won’t see these new weather widgets inside the Widgets screen on your Pixel device. When you browse for widgets inside the Google section on the Widgets screen, you’ll only find two weather widgets – a 2×2 widget and a 4×2 widget.

The other weather widgets will only appear when you resize either of these two widgets on your Android 12 Home Screen. All these widgets will appear in Material You-based backgrounds, meaning they will extract colors from your wallpaper for different elements of the widget.

These are the new weather widgets available via the Google (beta) app version 12.42 on Pixel phones:

                              2×1 Rectangular widget

You can add this widget by dragging the default 4×2 widget rectangular widget onto your home screen and resizing it to 2×1. When you do that, the widget will shrink to a smaller box with current temperature, minimum and maximum temperatures for the day, and a current weather status icon.

4×2 Rectangular widget with hourly forecast

This widget is available by default when you browse the Google section inside the Widgets screen. You can drag it directly to your home screen to get info about current weather, location, max/min temperature, status icon, and even forecasts for the next few hours.

4×3 Rectangular widget with hourly and weekly forecast

This widget can be applied to your Android 12 home screen by first dragging the 4×2 widget from the Widgets screen and then expanding it vertically. In addition to showing you everything from the hourly forecast widget from above, this widget will also offer weather forecasts for the next couple of days of this week including information about min/max temperatures and relevant weather status icons.

Small oval widget (available in 2×1 and 3×1 configurations)

You can add this tiny pill-shaped widget by first dragging the 2×2 oblong widget that was originally available and then resizing it to 2×1 or 3×1 configuration. The small oval widget is for minimalists who only need to see the current temperature and weather status icon on their home screen.

                              Large oval 4×2 widget

There also exists the large-size version of the oblong widget just like the hourly forecast widget. Unlike the 4×2 rectangular widget, however, the bigger oval-shaped widget will only show the current temperature, min/max temperature, and weather status icon; all in enlarged versions.

Get hourly and weekly forecasts with Material You widgets

With the latest update to the Google beta app, you get new Material You weather widgets that show weather info not just for now but for the next few hours or days. The hourly forecast widget is available in 4×2 configuration while the hourly + weekly forecast widget is available in 4×3 configuration.

The 4×2 rectangular widget can be added directly from the Widgets screen by dragging it onto your Android 12 home screen. If you wish to get the hourly + weekly forecast widget, you’ll need to expand this 4×2 widget vertically by dragging either of the edges at its top or bottom portions.

This widget will now expand to occupy more space and show more info like weather forecasts for the next 2 days this week.

That’s all you need to know about adding ‘Material You’ Weather Widgets on Android 12.

The task of adding video and audio files to the Android version of PowerPoint is very simple, and as expected, the information below will grant the knowledge you need.

                              Open PowerPoint for Android

                              Add pictures via the camera

                              Add pictures from the device

                              Add videos to a Slide

                              1] Open PowerPoint for Android

In order to open Microsoft PowerPoint for Android, you must first download it from the Google Play Store. After that, locate the icon on your home screen, then tap on it to open the application.

2] Add pictures via the camera

When it comes down to adding pictures, you do not have only a single option. If you want to take a picture and include it right away, then from within PowerPoint, you must tap on the camera icon located at the bottom right corner.

Once you’ve done that, the app will request permission to access your camera. Select the Approve option, then from there, you will see multiple options. You can take a picture of a document, or a regular picture, among other things.

3] Add pictures from the device

OK, so if you want to add images already saved on your smartphone, then via the Slide, tap on the Photos icon, and right away you should be brought to the gallery where you can choose from any of your saved images.

4] Add videos to a Slide

OK, so adding a video to a PowerPoint Slide via your Android device is similar to adding photos. Via the panel at the bottom, tap on the arrow pointing upwards, then select the dropdown menu. From here you must choose Videos, then Video if you want to add a video located on the device, or Record Video if you want to add a video directly from the camera.

How do I insert a picture into a PowerPoint presentation on Android?

Create a new presentation or open one already saved

Tap on the camera icon located on the toolbar at the bottom

How do you put a video on a PowerPoint from a phone?

Create a new presentation or open one already saved

Tap the upward arrow on the toolbar located at the bottom-right corner

Select Insert from within the dropdown menu

Outlook Lite Vs Outlook For Android: How Do They Compare?

Microsoft has finally released Outlook Lite for Android devices, and from what we can tell, it performs quite well. From our understanding, Outlook Lite is not vastly different from the regular Outlook app for Android, but the differences are big enough to discuss.

As the name suggests, the Outlook Lite app is a version of the regular Outlook app that has a smaller footprint. It is designed for low and medium-range Android smartphones that have problems running the regular app.

At the moment, Outlook Lite is only available in selected countries, and they are as follows: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Venezuela.

If users can live without much of the features found in the regular Outlook app, then certainly they’ll find something to love about Outlook Lite, and we suspect Microsoft is counting on this.

Outlook Lite vs Outlook apps compared

Now, its time for us to talk more about Outlook Lite and how it compares to regular Outlook.

Outlook Lite vs Outlook: Which is better?

Outlook Lite has the core experience of Outlook, including access to emails, calendars, contacts, and more.

The first thing you will realize about the Outlook app is that it is smaller in size compared to Outlook. The size is around 5MB, which is significantly smaller than the 88MB of the other version, and that’s a good thing.

Outlook Lite has been optimized to run even on devices with 1GB of RAM or less.

Outlook Lite is expected to use less battery when compared to its bigger brother.

It works well on all networks, including 2G and 3G networks worldwide

The Outlook Lite app supports chúng tôi Hotmail, MSN, Live, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange Online accounts.

If you need services like Microsoft Exchange Server, GMail, Yahoo! Mail, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box, then you should avoid Outlook Lite and go for Outlook.

Overall, the Outlook Lite app is perfect for those who want to send and receive emails. So, even if you have the most powerful Android device available, we would still recommend it because, for most people, the regular Outlook app for Android is overrun with unwanted features that will never be used.

                              How to get Outlook Lite

To experience what Outlook Lite has to offer, you must first download the app to your Android smartphone of choice.

All you have to do is open the Google Play Store.

                              Search for Outlook Lite.

Select it from the search results.

Tap the Install button, then wait.

It took a while, but Microsoft finally released Outlook Lite for Android devices. It sends and receives email messages just the same as the regular Outlook app, but it separates itself by being smaller, faster, and with fewer features.

Is Microsoft Outlook for Android free?

Outlook on Android is free to download and free to use. But as one might expect, a paid internet connection is required for everything to work accordingly as Microsoft does not provide the actual data.

Can I use Outlook without a subscription?

Yes, it is possible to use Outlook without a subscription. However, if you want Outlook which is part of the Office 365 suite, then you’re out of luck because that version is not available without spending some money.

Can I still use Microsoft Office after the subscription expires?

How To Install Android Studio And Sdk On Windows 11/10

The Android SDK, short for Android Software Developer Kit, is arguably the most powerful software utility widely used by programmers who indulge in Android app development. The Windows version of this toolkit serves as a helping hand to developers, and ships several other features like launching apps on the side using the Windows CMD. If you think that this could be of help to you, you can follow this guide to download and use Android SDK and Android Studio on Windows.

How to download and use Android SDK on Windows

The Android SDK by Google allows developers to create Android apps in a very simplistic manner, without them having to be full-blown experts at developing apps. It packages inside the Android Studio, which is Google’s own IDE, and several other necessary libraries. Although there is an option for users to download the SDK without Android Studio, most developers prefer to create with it. We will be looking at how you can use Android SDK both, with Android Studio and without it.

Use Android SDK command line version on Windows (Install Java)

If you’re just interested in the Android SDK to execute command lines, you’re required to download and install the latest version of Java first.

Here, download the ‘x64 MSI Installer’ file and install it

Once you’re done installing Java, its time for you to install the SDK Command Line

Scroll down to find the ‘Command Lines Only’ head and download the ‘.zip’ file for Windows

It will take a few minutes for the ‘.zip’ file to download, after which you can extract it and find the “cmdline-tools” program available inside it. Now, go to your C: Drive and create a folder named ‘Android’. Inside it, create a folder named “cmdline-tools” and inside that folder, another new subfolder by the name of “tools”. In this final subfolder, paste all the contents that you’ve just extracted from the SDK Command Line folder.

Let us now see how you can initiate the process of using SDK’s Command-Line version. To do that, follow the steps below:

                              Run Command Prompt as administrator

Now paste the following command line:

                              cd C:Androidcmdline-toolstoolsbin

This will open the bin folder in the tools directory we just created. Now, given that you have downloaded and installed Java, paste the following line of code and press enter:

                              SDK manager –list

This command will show you the list of installed and valid commands that came with the SDK Command Line

If you are interested in installing platform tools as well, execute the following command

                              sdkmanager "platform-tools" "platforms;android-33"

Once you do that, you’ll find a “platform-tools” folder automatically created in your Android folder.

How to install Android Studio on Windows

Let’s look at the flip side now, where you would want to use Google’s Android Studio for your app development processes. The reason we suggested why you may wish to omit to install Android Studio is that it takes up a lot of space, but the convenience and easy-to-use UI it brings along makes it worth it.

This version accompanies a feature called Android Virtual Device. Developers use this to test their prototypes and products, but you don’t need to download this along with the main file

Select the theme you want to run with your Android SDK and if there are any extra components that you’re interested in

Where is Android SDK installed in Windows 11/10?

There can be confusion on your mind as to where the Android SDK application file is stored upon being downloaded since the network of files can often get very elaborate and complicated. A way to ensure you remember where it is stored is to manually select the directory in which you want to install it. Alternatively, you can resort to its default saving location:

c:UsersusernameAppDataLocalAndroidSdk. How do I install platform tools on Windows?

The Android “platform-tools” is a command line functionality used almost exclusively by app developers. Usually accompanied by the Android SDK Manager, they come in handy for complicated tasks like developing and debugging apps. If you find yourself in a situation where you have to download and install platform tools separately on your Windows PC, you can get a ‘.zip’ file for the same from an online repository. Alternatively, the platform-tools utility can also be installed while running the SDK Command-line version.

How do I fix the “SDK tools directory is missing” Error?

You may face the “SDK tools directory is missing” error while starting Android Studio on Windows. To fix that, you have to open the SDK Manager, deselect the ‘Hide obsolete packages’ option on the bottom-right corner, and further, install the Android SDK Tools(obsolete) folder. A new folder by that name will be placed in the same directory as the main Android Studio files.

We hope that you find this post helpful.
