Suggested March 2024 How To Adjust The Bass Response For Your Iphone Or Ipad

Music is certainly a huge focus of owning Apple devices. People use all kinds of audio accessories with their mobile devices, whether they’re AirPods, Powerbeats, speakers, headphones, or even built-in speakers.

Everything has its own unique sound quality, but in this tutorial, we’ll show you how you can adjust the bass response on your iPhone or iPad to maximize the amount of bass you hear in your music, no matter what kind of audio device you’re using with your handset.

Why adjust the bass response

The stock music settings on your iOS device are set up for sound balance and music clarity, and most people just leave it that way because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.

On the other hand, some audiophiles want more out of what they’re hearing when using external headphones or speakers, and for this reason, Apple includes equalizer (EQ) settings on your iOS device that let you fine-tune what you hear when listening to music or watching videos.

There are a ton of sound settings you can choose from, but if more bass is what you’re looking for, then you’ll focus on the bass-related EQ settings so you can hear more boom and less treble.

How to increase bass for music on iPhone and iPad

Note: Before you get started, I suggest playing some music in the background so you can hear the sound changes in real-time.

Once you’re ready to add more bass to your Apple Music or songs played in the iOS Music app, follow these steps to change the EQ settings to be more bass-friendly:

Open the Settings app and tap Music.

Tap EQ to open the equalizer settings.

Lastly, tap the Increase Bass option in the list of EQ settings.

And that’s all there is to it.

Now what?

If you had music playing in the background, you should have heard the sound difference immediately.

This setting puts more emphasis on the bass in your music, so you get more of the boom and less of the treble. It doesn’t make the bass louder; it just makes it more noticeable by isolating it from the higher tones better. With that being said, don’t expect your headphones or speakers to magically sound like your high-end car audio system, as most of the sound comes from the headphones or speakers themselves.

You can feel free to experiment with your other EQ settings to hear the differences they make. Depending on the different headphones and speakers you have, which may or may not have their own EQ settings built into them, tweaking iOS’ EQ settings could complement their settings to give you the richer sound you’re looking for.

Keep in mind that some apps like Spotify actually have their own EQ settings built into their apps, so adjusting the sound from those apps is going to be a separate process.

On Mac, you can use Increase Bass by opening the Music app and pressing Option + Command + E to access the equalizer. From here, check the On box and choose Increase Bass.

More bass in music on iPhone

Now that you’ve changed the bass settings in your iOS device’s EQ settings, you should hear more of the bass in your music and less of the treble. There are a lot of people who enjoy more boom in their music, so it’s great to know that iOS harbors this kind of setting out of the box.

This process works not only for Apple’s AirPods and EarPods, but also for third-party headphones and speakers.

Do you like having more bass in your music?

How To Enable Lost Mode If Your Iphone Or Ipad Is Lost Or Stolen

We will show you how to enable Lost Mode for an iPhone or iPad that was lost, stolen, misplaced, or left behind using the Find My app. Lost Mode will password-protect your device, lock it remotely, and also display a custom message with your phone number.

Using Find My is the first step to protecting your iPhone or iPad in case it is lost or stolen. The feature lets you effectively track your device and even lock it, making it virtually useless to anyone who would find or steal it. You most likely already have Find My activated on your iPhone or iPad, as it’s automatically enabled after you set up your device and sign in using your Apple ID.

The most powerful feature of Find My iPhone is Activation Lock, a way for you to remotely lock your device by putting it in Lost Mode. By doing so, you will be able to remotely password-protect the device and add a custom message on its Lock Screen so that if someone finds your misplaced phone or tablet, they can call you and arrange a meet-up.

Also worth highlighting is that when put in Lost Mode, no one will be able to restore or reactivate your device without your Apple ID and password. If this might not prevent someone from stealing your device, it will at least prevent this person from doing anything with it.

Lost Mode can be enabled from both the Find My app on any iOS device or from chúng tôi in a web browser.

In the steps below, I am using my iPhone to find my lost iPad. The process to turn on Lost Mode on a stolen iPhone, iPod touch, Apple Watch, and Mac is similar.

How to put your iPhone or iPad in Lost Mode

1) Open the pre-installed Apple Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.

If you don’t own another Apple device, you can use the Find My app on your family member’s or friend’s iPhone or iPad or use chúng tôi in a web browser (explained below). Note that you must log in using the same Apple ID/password as the device you are trying to put into Lost Mode.

2) Go to the Devices section of the Find My app.

3) Find My will show a map and a list of devices that are linked to your Apple ID. Tap the device you lost or one that was stolen. In this case, it’s my iPad Pro.

5) Tap Activate under the Mark As Lost heading.

6) You will now see a summary of what will happen after you mark the device as lost:

Notify When Found: You will receive a notification when the location becomes available.

Activation Lock: This device is linked to your Apple ID, so no one else can use it.

Passcode Required: Your device cannot be unlocked until the correct passcode has been entered.

Device Protected: Payment cards and other services will be suspended as a safety precaution.

Leave a Message: Leave a number and message to be displayed for the person who finds this iPad.

Tap Continue.

7) If the device you’re trying to put in Lost Mode doesn’t have a passcode, Find My will require you to set one up on the spot. Type in a passcode and type the new passcode again to confirm. If you already have a passcode enabled on the device, you can go straight to the next step.

8) Enter a phone number that will be displayed on the lost or stolen device and tap Next. Although optional, it is highly recommended you add your phone number so people can reach you if they find your device. It could be your other number that’s with you or the phone number of a family member or friend.

9) Enter a message that’s up to 160 characters and tap Next. By default, the message is “This iPhone/iPad has been lost. Please call me.” but you can customize it the way you want. Just like phone number, this message will be visible to the finder. You can put your email here or a request message asking the finder to return your device.

10) Finally, double-check the phone number, the added message, keep Notify When Found enabled, and tap Activate. Make sure you stay on this screen until it completes processing and takes you back to the Find My app.

What happens after you put your iPhone or iPad in Lost Mode?

1) Your custom message and phone number will appear on the Lock Screen of the lost or stolen iPhone and iPad. If a person finds it, they can use the phone number and message there to reach you, set up a meeting, and return your device.

When an iPhone is in Lost Mode, the finder will also see a big Call button. Tapping it will instantly call you on the number you added while following the above steps. The call will be placed using the SIM card on your lost or stolen iPhone. The finder can also see the displayed phone number and call you using their mobile.

2) Your lost or stolen device can also send its location to your other device if the lost device is connected to the internet via mobile data or a known Wi-Fi network. Additionally, your iPhone (even if turned off), iPad, and Mac with no internet connectivity can also use the Find My network to relay its location to you.

3) Apple automatically puts your lost device in Low Power Mode so that it can stay online and reachable for longer.

4) You will see the red lock icon and the battery status of your lost or stolen device in the Find My app.

5) If someone tries to plug your iPhone into a Mac or iTunes on Windows PC to restore it, they won’t be able to, and they will see the following message, asking them to first turn off Find My iPhone.

How to turn off Lost Mode

After you find your misplaced device or it was returned to you, you can turn off Lost Mode by simply entering the correct device passcode. Alternatively, you can also follow these steps:

Open the Find My app on your other iPhone, iPad, or Mac and go to the Devices section.

Select your device that’s in Lost Mode.

Tap Activated under Mark As Lost.

Now, enter the passcode on your stolen-now-found device to get inside it.

Finally, enter your Apple ID password

Once you turn off Lost Mode on your found iPhone or iPad, you may have to enter your Apple ID password before you can use iCloud and other related features. Do that, and then your device is ready to use.

Use chúng tôi to turn on Lost Mode

If you don’t have access to another iOS device, you can enable Lost Mode from any web browser.

1) Visit chúng tôi in a web browser and sign in using your Apple ID.

How To Install Emulators On Your Iphone Or Ipad, No Jailbreak Required

Emulators are a way to play your favorite childhood games on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad without carrying the game disks or cartridges and game consoles around with you. Instead, they sideload the games on your device as a piece of software, and they’re given controls that are adapted for the touch screen.

In this tutorial, we’ll be showing you a method that still works to this day for getting emulators on your iOS device, and the best part is, you don’t even have to be jailbroken to do any of it.

One caveat to emulators

One thing you need to know right off the bat about emulators is that you should never download a game that you don’t personally own. This is because the games you can get via emulators have something called a ROM, which is a piece of software that is intellectual property and belongs to the game manufacturer.

If you own the game, you’re probably fairly in your bounds to transfer that ROM over to your iPhone and play it, but for all intents and purposes, we won’t be showing you the exact process to download ROMs on your iOS device because some people may mistreat this responsibility.

One the other hand, we’ll gladly show you how to get the Emulator software installed on your iPhone, because there’s nothing wrong with emulator software!

How to install DS, Gameboy, PlayStation, and other games in iOS

To get the emulator software on your iOS device, there are a fair amount of steps you’ll need to follow; they’re not difficult, but there are a lot of things you’ll need to do. Nevertheless, we’ll outline them for you below.

1) Download and install the free WeChat app from the App Store.

2) Launch the app and sign up using your mobile phone number, then confirm the phone number with the code you’re given.

3) Once all set up, tap on the search field at the top of the app, and search for “Xiaojigame” without the quotes.

4) Tap on the user indicated in the screenshots above. The user’s name should be in Chinese. Follow this user.

5) From the page that opens up, tap on the “iOS” button at the bottom.

6) In the conversation that appears next, tap on the blue link shown in the screenshots above. It’ll be in Chinese.

7) Once you see a dark screen, tap on the ellipsis “…” button to open a Share Sheet, and from there you’ll tap on the “Open in Safari” button.

8) Your Safari app will launch and load a webpage. From this webpage, you’ll tap on the “Step 1: Download for iOS” button.

9) When prompted, tap on the “Install” button to begin installing the emulator.

10) The emulator app will now download and install itself onto your Home screen.

11) The emulator app is called “Happy Chick” on the Home screen.

13) Now tap on the blue “Trust Shenzhen Misi Interactive Entertainment” button, then tap on the red “Trust” button when prompted. A red “Delete App” button should appear if you did this correctly, but don’t tap on that button.

14) Now go back to the Home screen and launch the “Happy Chick” app. You can deny the app Camera and Location Services access for your own privacy. The app will ask you for an activation code.

15) Return to your Safari app where you have the webpage you were just using, and copy the activation code you were given.

16) Now return to the Happy Chicks app and paste that verification code into the text field and tap on the Activate button just to the right of the text field.

17) You should now be able to start searching the app. You can search for titles you own, or you can browse by category.

Use responsibly.

A few words of caution

Installing enterprise certificates is one way that an iOS device can be infected with malware or taken over by hackers. It’s because you’re trusting a side-loaded app that is installed on your device without the approval of Apple or the App Store, and there’s no telling what kinds of programmatic code may be lurking in the app.

Although we think this emulator is safe for use, we can’t make any guarantees, so you will have to do this at your own risk if you have the desire to play emulated games on your iOS devices.

Things to know about the emulator

Since the app requires use of WeChat, which in itself requires use of a phone number, you will have to set up a WeChat account for each device, which means you’ll need more than one mobile phone number. For this reason, I suggest you choose carefully on what device you’re planning to use your emulator app on.

The activation code that we used in our screenshots could only be used once, and the case will be the same for you when you follow these steps, so don’t bother trying to share your code or try using it on multiple devices, because it won’t work.

Emulator games will run smoothly on just about all of Apple’s latest 64-bit devices with a steady 50-60 frames per second. Obviously, this depends on the game and the device, but Apple’s iPhone 6s or iPad Pro will run games with butter-smooth fluidity with no questions asked. With that being said, the only thing you really have to worry about is whether or not controls have been ported nicely to the touch screen or not.

Best of all, because it doesn’t require a jailbreak to use, you can install it on any of your iOS 9 devices, whether it’s a jailbreakable firmware or not. This includes iOS 9.3 beta. If you change your mind on using it, you can delete the emulator app at any time to remove it and its games from your device.

The emulator will support games that have been made for the following game console platforms:

PSP

PlayStation 1

Nintendo 64

Nintendo DS

Gameboy Advance

Gameboy Color

Many others

Conclusion

If you’re looking for an emulator app that’s easy to install and doesn’t require a jailbreak to use, then the Xaiojigame WeChat method is a great way to look. As always, we don’t condone piracy, so we suggest you don’t use any games with the emulator software that don’t belong to you.

How To Edit Videos On Iphone Or Ipad: The Ultimate Guide

The iPhone camera has long been the leader in smartphone videography. And thanks to its powerful Apple-designed A-series processor, the iPhone handles video editing well. In this detailed guide, let me show you how to edit videos on your iPhone. I have covered everything from cropping and merging the videos to removing sound and beyond.

Before you begin: Ensure you update your iPhone to iOS 14 as the Photos app in this version has several editing tools, which we will be using in this guide.

How to trim a video on iPhone or iPad

Launch the Photos app and open a video.

Tap Edit at the top right. You will see a trimming strip. If not, tap the camera icon next to Cancel.

Crop a video on iPhone or iPad

While trimming, you remove the start or end segments of the video. For example, you turn a 50-second video into 40 seconds. With the crop tool, you can adjust the four edges of the full video. See the steps and screenshots below to learn more.

Launch a video in the Photos app and tap Edit at the top right.

Tap the square-like icon at the bottom row of the editing screen.

Drag either one of the four edges to crop the video. You may also drag from the corners.

You can also use pre-built crop options like square, rectangle, 9:16, 16:9, 3:4, etc. For this, tap the rectangle-icon at the top right and choose the desired option.

How to flip a video on iPhone or iPad

When you flip a video, the left becomes right, and the right becomes left. This is helpful to rectify the mirrored image. See the steps and screenshot for a better understanding.

Open a video inside the Photos app and tap Edit.

Tap the square-like icon at the bottom right.

Tap the two triangle icon at the top left.

How to rotate a video on iPhone

Open a video inside the Photos app and tap Edit.

Tap the square-like icon from the bottom row.

At the top left, tap the square icon with an arrow.

Tap the same icon several times to get the desired rotation.

Do you not want to rotate the video in multiples of 90 degrees (as shown above) and wish to have a free hand? Tap the two semi-circles icon and drag the slider left or right to rotate the video the way you want.

Note: This tool may significantly crop out the corners of the video.

Edit any videos online on iPhone and iPad

As seen above, the Photos app does phenomenal at basic editing. However, it has some limitations. For instance, you can’t cut, edit and save the video in a specific format. Or can’t edit the video stored in Google Drive or Dropbox. This is a problem when your device doesn’t have enough storage.

Plus, the platform supports almost every video format, so you can import and export videos in any format of your choice. And remember, all of that is happening online; you don’t have to download an app or even a video.

Oh yes! You can add the video from iPhone’s Photos app, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a URL. So, if you want to edit small videos without a third-party app and save storage space, the chúng tôi is a perfect and safe solution.

Rotate a video on iPhone using iMovie

Inside iMovie, tap the plus icon and choose Movie.

Select the video you wish to rotate and tap Create Movie.

Pro Tip: Working with vertical video? On the iMovie timeline, tap the video to select it (it will have a yellow border). Now from the top right, tap the tiny search icon with a plus sign inside. Next, pinch to see the uncropped vertical video.

Stretch a video on iPhone or iPad

From the Photos app, open a video and tap Edit.

Hit the square-like icon at the bottom row.

How to remove sound from a video

Open a video in the iOS Photos app and tap Edit.

Tap the yellow speaker icon at the top left. It will turn gray.

If you later decide to get the audio, tap Edit → Revert → Revert to Original.

How to add Apple filter to video

Just like applying filters to images, you can do the same with videos. Here’s how:

Open a video in the iPhone Photos app and tap Edit.

Tap the three overlapping circles icon at the bottom.

Choose one of the desired filters.

Drag the slider to change the filter’s intensity.

Change video color, brightness, and other visual effects

The pre-made filters are fun. But if you want manual granular control, you have that as well. Here is how.

Open the iPhone Photos app, select a video, and tap Edit at the top right.

Tap the icon with a circle and several dots around it.

Here you have the following controls:

Auto

Exposure

Highlights

Shadows

Contrast

Brightness

Black Point

Saturation

Vibrance

Warmth

Tint

Sharpness

Definition

Noise Reduction and

Vignette

Tap Auto to let iPhone do the magic.

Tap other options and drag the slider left or right to adjust it. Experiment with multiple options to achieve the desired level of editing.

How to revert a video to its original state

Open the iPhone Photos app, tap a video, and choose Edit at the top right.

Hit Revert at the bottom right.

Tap Revert to Original.

How to combine two or more videos on iPhone

Download and open iMovie.

Next, tap the plus icon and choose Movie.

Tap to select two or more videos.

Or, tap < from top left and hit Video to see all clips.

Tip: If you rotate your iPhone into landscape orientation, you will automatically see the media types like Video, Albums, etc. Next, tap a video and then tap the check box.

Transition effects: You will see a tiny icon made of two triangles between two videos. This symbolizes the transition effect.

Tap it and choose None if you want no effect when one video ends and the other one begins. You may choose one of the other transition effects like Theme, Dissolvem Slide, Wipe, Fade.

To turn off the transition sound, tap the speaker icon.

Preview the combined video: Tap the triangle play button to preview the final video.

Add text to a video on iPhone

Download and open iMovie.

Tap the plus icon and choose Movie.

Select a video and tap Create Movie.

Hit the video from the timeline to select it.

Tap T from the bottom row.

Customize text:

Hit the three-dots icon to style the text.

Enable Full Clip Duration if you want the text to stay on the video in its entirety.

Tap the triangle play button to preview the video.

How to add music to a video on iPhone

If you want to add external audio to the video, we have a separate guide for that. You can use iMovie or other third-party apps to add songs and other music.

This is how you can edit videos on your iPhone or iPad using the Photos app or iMovie. I hope this guide was helpful. Additionally, the App Store is full of several excellent video editing apps that you may check out.

How To Safely Get A Sim Card Out Of Your Iphone Or Ipad

Let’s say you’re changing network carriers, or you’re switching to a new iPhone but you want to keep your old number. You need to learn how to get the SIM card out of your iPhone. The SIM card is what enables your phone, or cellular-enabled iPad to connect to a network.

Removing a SIM Card from an iPhone or an iPad is very easy. You just need to locate the SIM tray that holds your card, open it, and take out the SIM. Here’s how to do it safely in more detail.

Table of Contents

What’s a SIM Card?

SIM stands for a Subscriber Identity Module, a memory card chip where your subscription plan and your phone number are stored. It is vital to how your iPhone works. If you remove it, you will no longer be able to receive or make phone calls or use mobile data. All you can do is connect to Wi-Fi.

Typically any SIM card can be used in any smartphone operating on an iOS or Android system. However, some phones might be locked to only one network. You need to make sure you are either using an unlocked iPhone or iPad or that the SIM card matches the network your device is locked to.

Locate the SIM Tray on Your Device

Over time, Apple changed the location of a SIM tray on different models of their iPhones. But they are always very easy to find. It’s enough to take off a mask or a case from your smartphone and look for the elongated rectangular notch with a small round hole.

It should be on the side of your iPhone. If you are unsure how and where to look for the SIM tray here is where you should look depending on your iPhone model:

The original iPhone and older models such as iPhone 3g, had their SIM tray on the top of the device.

All iPhone models after iPhone 4 and up to iPhone SE have their SIM tray on the right side.

iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro, also have SIM trays on the right side, but if they were produced in mainland China, they can store two nano-SIM cards at once.

All iPhone models from iPhone 12 Pro Max up until today have their SIM trays on the left side, just below the volume buttons.

Keep in mind that iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro produced in the USA have no SIM tray due to the eSIM, a digital SIM card. This will allow you to install up to 8 eSIM cards on one device, and use two phone numbers on one iPhone or iPad.

If you’re using a cellular-enabled iPad, you will find a SIM tray either on the right or the left side, depending on the model. Typically older models such as iPad 2 and up to the generation 4 have their SIM trays on the left side, while all the newer models have them on the right side.

Tools You Need to Remove the iPhone’s SIM Card

Opening a SIM tray can be tricky, and you will need a special tool to do it without damaging your iPhone or iPad. Notice the small round hole on the SIM tray? That’s where you will insert the tool and press it.

You usually get a SIM eject tool when you are buying a new smartphone. But the tool is very small and easy to lose. If you don’t have it, you can use another household item instead. For example, a paperclip is thin enough to fit the tiny hole in the SIM tray. Just make sure to strip any color coating it might have to make it thinner. Then bend the free end to extend it.

Another alternative to the SIM eject tool is a staple. Every office or school has a stapler and you can easily borrow a single staple if you need it. They should be thin and firm enough to help you remove the SIM tray. But some brands make them softer, and these will give you trouble if your iPhone’s SIM tray is firmly inside the device.

If you have sewing equipment, you might look for a needle thin enough to fit the SIM tray hole and open it. Whatever you choose to use instead of a SIM removal tool, be careful not to damage your device.

Remove the SIM Card in Just a Few Simple Steps

No matter where the SIM card tray is located, removing the SIM from an iPhone or an iPad should be very easy. Follow these steps to do it safely:

1. Hold the power button to turn off your iPhone or iPad.

2. Remove the case or the mask.

3. Insert the SIM ejector tool or its alternative into the pinhole located on the SIM tray.

4. Apply pressure to it gradually until the tray pops out of its slot. Make sure that you are not applying the pressure at an angle, but in the direction of the pinhole itself.

5. Take hold of the SIM tray and gently pull it out.

6. Push the card out of the SIM card slot in the tray, or flip the tray so that the card drops out.

That is it, your SIM card is out. Now you can either put it in your new iPhone or put a new SIM card in your old phone. Even if you don’t need to return the SIM card immediately to your iPhone, it is best if you could return the SIM tray back into the device. The tray is very small and you could lose it. Simply slide it back in its slot on the iPhone or iPad, and press it so it stays firmly in its place.

If you’re for some reason unable to remove a SIM card from your iPhone or iPad, take your device to any Apple store and the staff there will help you.

How to Set Up a New SIM Card

If you want to put a new SIM card in your iPhone you need to put it into the SIM card tray. The chip connector should be facing down. This is the only correct orientation of the SIM card. Mind the angled corner of the SIM card and make sure it fits the shape of the SIM tray.

Once the card is in its slot, simply push the SIM tray back into your device. The process should be smooth and easy, and there will be no need to push with force.

What If the New SIM Card Doesn’t Fit Your iPhone SIM Tray?

SIM cards come in three different sizes, original, micro, and nano so that they can fit different smartphone models. If you can’t fit the SIM card in the slot on your SIM tray, it means the card is the wrong size.

Fortunately, most SIM cards come in a standard size that can be snapped into two smaller versions. This way one SIM card can fit all iPhone and iPad models.

However, if your SIM card is too small for the SIM tray, you will need to use an adapter to size it up. You can easily find SIM card adapters on Amazon or in Apple stores. The alternative is to ask your network carrier to send you a new SIM card of the right size.

If anything else goes wrong with your SIM, make sure to check out our guide on what to try if your SIM card isn’t working.

How To Refresh Location In Find My On Iphone Or Ipad

If you use Find My with iPhone to keep track of location of friends, family, items, or Apple devices, you may be wondering how you can refresh the location when you’re looking at the Find My map.

Refreshing the Find My location can be necessary for many reasons, for example if you’re wanting to see the most up to date location for something like a lost iPhone, or a person who is traveling. If you’re wondering how to refresh someones location, or force Find My to update, this may be helpful to you.

We’ll show you a few different ways to refresh the location of people and things using Find My from an iPhone or iPad.

Refreshing Find My locations via Find My app

The Find My app allows you to see people and devices on a map, but sometimes the Find My location data is outdated or hasn’t been updated recently. If you wish to refresh the person or things location in Find My, you’ll notice there currently is not a refresh button available.

Instead of a refresh button, here’s how you can refresh location in Find My using iPhone:

Open “Find My” and select the person or object you want to refresh the location for

Leave the Find My screen open for a minute or few and don’t let the display go to sleep, it should refresh automatically

Alternatively, you can force quit Find My app, then relaunch the app, select the object or person, and let the screen sit on the map again, it should update.

Older versions of the Find My app included a refresh button, where you were able to watch the location changing of a device or person rather quickly and tap to refresh at any time, but that is not available in current version of Find My. However, you can still use Refresh for Find My with people by using the Messages app, which we’ll cover next.

Refreshing Find My locations with Messages app

Interestingly, the Messages app includes a Refresh option for Find My, so if you’re using Find My to locate a person then you can easily refresh the data available on the Find My map – but only through Messages app.

Open the Messages app and go to the message thread with the person you want to locate with Find My

Tap on the persons name then choose “Info”

If the person is sharing their location with you, you’ll see a map here, so tap on that map

Tap on the circle refresh button in the upper right corner to refresh the Find My location of this person

Sometimes you need to tap the refresh button several times to have the Find My location actually update.

The Messages approach offers refresh, which works to refresh the Find My location immediately. The downside to this approach is it only works with people sharing locations (through Find My or Messages) and it will not work with a device, like an AirTag, iPhone, Mac, iPad, or other.

What if the location says “Not Available”?

If location data is not available, there are several possible reasons why. It’s possible the person or device is out of cellular or GPS range, or not connected to a network, their device is turned off or has AirPlane mode on, the device battery died, or there’s a brief blip in network communication which usually resolves in a few minutes but can happen just about anywhere. If you see “Location Not Available” or other location unavailable messages, then try again in a few minutes or after some time, the location may become available again.
