Suggested March 2024 How To Remove Windows Activation Watermark

If you’ve recently changed your PC’s hardware, there’s a good chance there is now a watermark in the bottom-right corner of your screen saying you need to activate Windows. While it doesn’t impact your PC’s performance or prevent you from doing anything you would normally do with your PC, it is annoying. Fortunately, there is a way to remove the activation watermark permanently from your machine.

What Is Windows Activation?

Microsoft Product Activation is a DRM (digital right management) technology. Essentially, product activation acts somewhat like a “certificate of authenticity.” This works by transmitting data to Microsoft about your PC’s hardware configuration, essentially binding a copy of software to a specific computer. In this case, the software in question is the Windows 10 operating system; however, Microsoft uses product activation in a variety of products, such as its Office suite. The idea behind this is to prevent software piracy, but critics contend that product activation does little to stop this.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest problems with product activation affects PC builders. A change in hardware necessitates reactivation. Because product activation effectively marries software to particular hardware, any change in that hardware could invalidate a license. This is problematic for users who upgrade their computer’s components, as any change in processor, motherboard or hard drive can cause the deactivation of Windows 10.

Buy a New Windows Key

The easiest way to get rid of the Activate Windows 10 watermark is to simply buy a new activation key. The Microsoft Store sells digital keys that will activate your copy of Windows straight away. That being said, the price tag may make your eyes water. The standard Home version of Windows 10 will run you $139. If you want to go Professional, you’ll have to fork over $200. That being said, you could always opt for a cheap OEM key. Just be aware that using an OEM key in a PC you built yourself violates Microsoft’s End User Agreement.

Edit the Registry

Removal of the activation watermark can be achieved by making an edit to the Windows Registry. The Windows Registry contains information and settings related to various programs and hardware installed on the Windows Operating System. As a result, you can do some damage here, so remember to back it up first before making any changes. Also, make sure you follow these directions exactly. Failure to do so can break your system.

With the Registry Editor window open, go to the following location:

Downsides to Removing the Watermark

Removing the watermark does not activate your copy of Windows. As of this writing there are a few minor downsides to running Windows 10 without activating. Most of these are cosmetic, such as not being able to apply custom wallpaper (though that can be bypassed with this technique). Additionally, you may receive periodic notifications reminding you to activate.

Aside from that, Windows 10 functions the same whether it is activated or not. This includes receiving updates and security patches. That being said, Microsoft can change this on a whim. Microsoft could choose to limit the functionality of non-activated copies of Windows 10 at any time.

How To Watermark Photos On Android

Taking the perfect picture on your phone can be very difficult, but once you have it, you want to make sure that no one else takes credit for it. One way you can protect the photos you take on your Android is by adding your own personal watermark.

If you’ve taken the image from your Android device, you can quickly add a watermark by using a third-party app. You don’t have to use complicated software to protect the image you waited so long to take.

1. Using Snapseed

You can’t trust Google with everything, but at least you can trust them with making high-quality software. Snapseed is one of the best photo editors for Android, and it’s all built in-house by Google. Among its many, many features is the ability to add watermarks to your photos.

Open Snapseed, then tap anywhere on the screen to select which photo you want to view.

With the picture loaded, tap Tools at the bottom of the screen then ‘Double Exposure’.

After that, tap the “Add Image” icon at the bottom of the screen, find the image you want to use as a watermark, then resize and position it, then tap the tick icon in the bottom right corner.

2. Using Add Text

This one may not explicitly talk about watermarking your photos, but that doesn’t stop Add Text from being one of the best Android watermark apps around. Also, even though it’s called “Add text,” you can just as well add images, logos, stickers and all manner of other things to an image, applying a level of transparency that suits you.

When the app opens, select the photo you want to watermark, then under “Add Layer,” choose whether you want to add text, a photo, a shape or whatever else.

In our case, we are adding the Make Tech Easier logo as a watermark, so we tap Photo, then find the logo in our Google Drive folder.

Once you’ve added your image, check the “Blend” box to remove any background it has and give it a nice mild opacity.

You can reposition your logo, rotate it, resize it, change its perspective, whatever you like. Once it’s ready, tap the arrow at the top-right corner to save it, then tap “Save Image” to save it as an image or “Save Project” if you want to continue editing it in the app in the future.

3. Using Watermark

Watermark can also help you add watermarks to your images, but this is a much simpler app. It doesn’t have as many options when it comes to editing your watermark. If you like an app that keeps things simple, you may want to give this one a try.

As soon as you open the app, you’ll see two options at the bottom: Photos and Logos. Tap on Photos to choose the image you want to add the watermark to. If you don’t immediately see the picture you need, just tap on the Browse Folders option to see all your files.

To add a particular text as a watermark, tap on the “T” at the top right. Double-tap on the text to be taken to a new window where you can add the text you want. Select the checkmark to save your changes.

The app also offers options to add a bold or italic style to the text and to change the font of the text by tapping on the drop-down menu. There is also an option to share your creation with friends at the top right.

As you can see, adding a watermark from your Android device is not as hard as you may have thought it was. Next up, why not discover how to share your newly watermarked photos with friends by using Nearby Share? We can also show you how to turn your flashlight on and off on Android.

To collect this data, the spyware monitors your internet activity, tracks login details, and spies on sensitive information. The intent behind developing and using spyware is majorly criminal and this makes cleaning infections from the computer essential.

If you are thinking this task can be done manually, then sorry my dear friend, that isn’t possible. To get rid of spyware, virus, or any sort of malware what you need is a good antivirus. You can find several antiviruses in the market but finding the best from them is like finding a needle from a haystack.

In addition to this, if you are looking for a tool that helps clean virus, junk, invalid registry entries, helps defrag disk, recover deleted files, and does a lot more, you should try Advanced System Optimizer.

In this post, we will explain how using a system optimizer you can detect and remove spyware.

How to Detect and Remove Spyware Using Advanced System Optimizer

Download and install Advanced System Optimizer

Wait for the scan to finish.

Once done, you will get a list of threats.

Restart the system to apply changes and see a speed boost.

In addition to this, using Advanced System Optimizer you can also clean invalid registry entries, free up disk space, clean hidden privacy exposing traces, and a lot more. Here’s how to perform all this using Advanced System Optimizer.

Launch Advanced System Optimizer.

From the three scan modes – Quick, Deep, and Custom select the one that you prefer using.

Quick Scan – It is quick when it performs disk defragmentation, and cleaning of spyware is not done.

Deep Scan – Scanning and cleaning of all 7 areas is done

This will help clean the spyware, remove junk files, invalid registry entries, clean internet privacy exposing traces and beyond.

Wondering, why use a system optimization tool to clean spyware?

Well, the answer is a system optimization tool can perform more operations than an antivirus. Also, it is user-friendly, effective and it does not restrict you to perform one task. A PC optimization tool is always better than a standalone if you want to perform more tasks. However, if you are happy with a tool that only offers one function you can go with Systweak Antivirus, the best security tool to clean the infection from Windows.

How To Remove Recommended Section In Windows 11 Start Menu

Microsoft announced Windows 11 last year in June. Almost four months after the announcement, Windows 11 was finally released in October 2023. Windows 11 is a nice upgrade over Windows 10 and packs some fascinating features such as a new centered Start Menu, Taskbar, refreshed app icons, and support for Android apps. Among all these features, the new Start Menu received everyone’s attention. Microsoft has completely redesigned the start menu. It features a search bar on top followed by a Pinned section that shows pinned apps with a button to access All apps.

Below the Pinned section is an all-new Recommended section showing all the recently added and opened apps as well as recently opened files. It also has a More button to offer more Recommended apps and files. The recommended section will come in handy to access the recently opened apps and files, but the feature is not for everyone. Many Windows 11 users didn’t like it as the Recommended section takes almost half the space of the Start Menu. If you are one of the users and want to remove the Recommended section on your Windows 11 PC, you are in the right place.

Remove Recommended Section in Windows 11 Start Menu

I know most of you want to remove the recommended section from the Windows 11 start menu altogether. But let me clarify before providing the steps that you can’t completely remove the recommendation section as of now. However, you can remove individual recommended items or the complete recommended section content. Microsoft has added the option in the settings app to turn off the recommendations. Follow the below methods to hide recommended section content from the Windows 11 start menu.

Remove Recommended items Individually.

Everyone has a different problem with the recommended section—some users like it as it helps open the recently added or opened apps. The only issue with it is that they don’t want individual apps or files to appear in the recommended section. Suppose you opened a private file in File Explorer and don’t want anyone to access it. In that situation, you would like that specific file to not appear in the recommended section while keeping other apps and files there. You can remove recommended items individually; below are its steps.

Step 1: Tap on the new Windows 11 logo in the Taskbar to open the Start menu on your Windows 11 PC. Alternatively, You can also press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start menu.

Step 3: A shortcut menu will appear on the screen from the given options; tap on Remove from list.

Once you tap on Remove from the list for an individual app or file, the selected item will no longer appear in the Recommended section. Similarly, you can remove a few more items if needed.

Remove Recommended Section Content

The above method works well to remove an individual item from the recommended section. But what if you want to remove the entire recommended section content. Microsoft has added the options in the Settings app, and below are the steps to remove the recommended section content from the Start Menu.

Step 1: Open Settings on your Windows 11 PC. You can type Windows + I keyboard shortcut to open the Settings app.

Step 2: In the Windows 11 Settings app, tap on Personalization from the left sidebar.

Step 3: Under the Personalization setting, scroll down to the Start section and tap on it.

Step 4: In the Start section, turn off the “Show Recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists, and File Explorer” option. Turning it off will remove recently opened items from the recommended section.

Step 5: After it, turn off Show recently added apps option. The Show most used apps will be turned off by default. In case it is turned on, turn it off as well.

Once you have turned off all the options in the Start section, open the Start Menu, and you will no longer see any recommendations in the recommended area. However, the recommended section will still occupy the space as earlier.

How do I hide recommendations in Windows 11?

Microsoft has added a new recommended section in Windows 11. It shows all the recently added and opened apps and recently opened files. Many users want to hide recommendations in Windows 11, but it is impossible to remove the recommended action completely; however, one can remove individual recommendations or complete recommended section content.
