How To Transfer Photos From Iphone To Flash Drive?

Transferring photos from iPhone to a flash drive puts you in a win-win situation. On one hand, you have got yourself a backup of your favorite photos. On the other, you can free up storage space on your iPhone if need be.

There are different routes you can take to transfer photos from iPhone to a flash drive. From the methods suggested in this article, you can select the one that is feasible.

How to Transfer Photos From iPhone to Flash Drive?

When it comes to transferring photos from iPhone to a flash drive, you can go the direct or indirect methods.

The time and effort you need to put in for every method may vary. However, all of these methods are sure to work. So, based on your preference, you can choose either one.

Direct Transfer from iPhone to Flash Drive

If you have USB cables, adapters, or a specific flash drive designed to connect iPhones, you can opt for the direct transfer.

Using a USB Cable or Adapter

You can transfer photos from your iPhone to a flash drive with the means of a USB cable and a computer. You’ll have to plug in your iPhone to your computer with the help of a USB cable or an adapter. Likewise, insert the USB drive into another USB port.

During the pairing process, keep your phone turned on and unlock it. Another thing to keep in mind, in the case of Windows computers, is to update iTunes on the PC.

The steps to transfer your photos in this manner may take a longer time. But, in doing so, you save the time of downloading and installing some third-party apps.

Here’re the steps to Pair Computer and iPhone on both Mac and Windows:

Pair your iPhone and computer with a USB cable or adapter.

Once Trust This Computer alert comes up on the phone, select Trust. This will make your iPhone discoverable so that your computer can detect and connect with it.

Then, if asked, enter the password too.

After this part, the steps to import the photos differ for Mac and Windows. So, follow the steps accordingly.

On Mac

On Windows

Using a Flash Drive That Connects to iPhone Directly

You can get a flash drive that’s made specifically to plug into iPhone directly. With this kind of drive, transferring photos from iPhone will be a cakewalk. However, it may be a little on the pricier side.

Some of the best-voted flash drives for iPhone are SanDisk iXpand, iDiskk iPhone Memory Stick, to name a few.

To show you how this works, we have chosen SanDisk iXpand flash drive, at random.

Lift the flash drive’s lightning corrector.

Plug it into iPhone.

Then, a prompt will appear telling you to install the iXpand Sync app.

When the App Not Installed message shows up, tap App Store.

In the App Store, search for iXpand Sync.

Once found, install it.

Thereafter, open the app.

A message saying You’re Connected! appears.

Thereafter, an option will show up from where you can either Turn on Auto Backup or select Skip for now.

If you choose Skip for now, select Copy Files from the listed options on the screen.

Then, select Copy Photos from iPhone.

Select the photos you want to transfer to the flash drive.

Next, tap Copy to iXpand Drive.

Select a folder to transfer the photos or create a new folder.

Tap Copy Here.

Indirect Transfer from iPhone to Flash Drive

In case you don’t have any connecting cables or flash drives at your disposal, try the methods below.

iCloud Photos

You can use iCloud Photos to transfer photos from your iPhone to a flash drive. It’s easy, quick, and convenient. There also won’t be the need for USB cables or adapters.

To use iCloud Photos for photo transfer, you have to first turn on the iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone.

After enabling iCloud Photos, you can take the following steps to transfer photos to the computer.

On Both Mac and Windows

Now that you have finally transferred the photos to your computer, here’s how you share them to the flash drive.

Plug in the flash drive to the USB port on the computer.

Then, open the folder to which you previously transferred the photos.

Copy them all using Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C keys.

From the navigation pane on the left, select and open the new flash drive.

Then, hit Ctrl + V keys to paste the downloaded photos from the iPhone.

Google Drive

You can also use Google Drive to transfer photos from your iPhone to Flash Drive. For this, you won’t be needing a USB cable or an adapter. With 15 GB of free storage, you can most likely upload all your photos on Drive.

After that, you can connect the flash drive to your computer. Then, you can proceed to download the photos from Drive and save them to the flash drive.

Here are the steps you need to take.

Since these photos will be downloaded as a ZIP file, you can extract them in the same way as mentioned above in the iCloud Photos section.

Likewise, the same goes for transferring photos, once they have been unzipped, to a flash drive.

You probably have at least two email addresses. If you do, you can transfer photos from your iPhone to a flash drive through email.

After that, turn on your computer and log in to your email address. Download the photos, insert the flash drive, and copy-paste photos to the flash drive.

How To Transfer Data From Old To New Mac

You received your new Mac, and you are all excited to try it out until you realize you have to transfer a ton of data from your old Mac to the new one but have no idea how to do it. Don’t worry, because I will show you more than one way to migrate files from one Mac to another!

Things to do before you transfer files from Mac to Mac

Now, select how you want to transfer data and follow the rest of the steps.

How to transfer files from Mac to Mac using Migration Assistant

Migration Assistant is a built-in app in macOS with which you can transfer information such as data, computer settings, and apps from one Mac to another or transfer data to a Mac using the backup file. Not only that, but you can also use the application to transfer information from a Windows PC.

How to use Migration Assistant

The steps will be different based on the type of way you choose for migration. I have mentioned what you need to do for each one of them.

Transfer files between Macs

Follow the steps mentioned in the previous section and after that, follow the steps mentioned below:

Wait until the data transfer is completed, and close the Migrate Assistant on both devices when completed. Now, log in with your Apple ID on the new Mac.

Note: If you plan to give your old Mac to someone, don’t forget to factory reset your Mac.

How to migrate to a new Mac using a backup

As you can assume, for this method, you need to have a Time Machine backup from your old Mac.

Wait for some time for the backup to finish. The completion time depends on the file size. If you had taken some other backup, you need to restore the backup file to the Mac using a different method.

Transfer files to new Mac using iCloud

You can use Apple ID to sync data between your Apple devices. But you have to enable sync for the files you want to transfer.

Now that you have synced data to iCloud in the old Mac, let us see how to log in with the same ID on the new Mac. Follow these steps for that:

After that, go to System Preference → Apple ID → iCloud and enable iCloud and other files. Besides iCloud, you can use other popular cloud services like Google Drive or OneDrive to upload or download files.

Mac to Mac transfer using File sharing

If you don’t want to use Migration Assistant to migrate files from your Mac to another, you can use the Finder app. For that:

You have successfully connected two Macs. Now, all you have to do is drag and drop the files between them. But this method is not good if you have a lot of files to share.

Use AirDrop to transfer files from old Mac to new

Just like Finder, you can also use AirDrop to transfer files between an old Mac to a new Mac.

It will be a tedious process to transfer all those files through AirDrop. Hence, I don’t suggest using it unless you want to.

Q. What cable do I need to transfer from Mac to Mac?

Use cables with Thunderbolt 3 or above standard for transferring data fast. You can get the cable from the official Apple store as well as all major online and offline retailers.

Q. Does Migration Assistant wipe data of the new Mac?

No. Migration Assistant won’t wipe the data of the new Mac while transferring. All the application does is transfer files from the old to the new one. It won’t wipe any data stored in your new Mac.

Q. How long does a Mac transfer take?

The time for transferring files from Mac depends on which method you choose. The size and the number of files also influence the transfer speeds.

Q. Does migration transfer everything on Mac?

Yes, if you have enabled all the files required to transfer, the Migration Assistant will follow that instruction and then transfers every file on your old Mac to the new one.

3 Ways To Transfer Voice Memos From Iphone To Mac Or Pc

The native Voice Memo app on iPhone provides a great way to record meetings and seminars or even make quick audio notes of your ideas on the go. But too many recordings can take up valuable space on your iPhone and slow it down, so it’s useful to transfer voice memos from iPhone to Mac. There are multiple ways to do this and here, we’ll look at 3 methods that are easy, quick, and, most importantly, free! Let’s begin.

How to Transfer Voice Memos from iPhone to Mac

Integration of Voice Memos app with iCloud keeps your voice notes safe and synced on your Apple devices. Using the steps below, we will ensure that everything is appropriately synced, and you have no issue accessing the voice recordings you make from iPhone on Mac and vice versa.

Make sure your iPhone is running the latest iOS 13, and your Mac is running macOS Catalina. Also, ensure you are signed in with the same Apple ID on both.

On your iPhone: Open Settings app → tap on your name card → iCloud → and turn on the toggle for Voice Memos.

Now, all your voice recordings from iPhone and Mac will sync

From Launchpad on Mac, open the Voice Memos app. In a few seconds, you will see all iPhone recordings here.

To save it in a pen drive or your Mac’s storage, place your mouse pointer on a recording and drag it to your desktop or a folder.

How to Transfer Voice Memos from iPhone to Mac Without iTunes

We will be using one of the several sharing tools available in iOS Share Sheet to transfer voice memo from iPhone to Mac.

Transfer iPhone Voice Memos to Mac Using AirDrop

Before you begin, turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your iPhone and Mac. Also, make sure AirDrop discovery is set to Everyone or at least Contacts Only.

Open Voice Memos app on iPhone and tap on a voice note. Now, tap on three blue dots and then tap on Share.

Transfer iPhone Voice Memos to Mac Via iCloud Drive

Open Voice Memos app on iPhone and tap on a voice note.

Tap on three blue dots and then tap on Save to Files.

Now, Select iCloud Drive and then tap on Save.

Transfer iPhone Voice Memos to Mac Using Email

You can also email the voice recording to yourself or other email accounts.

Open Voice Memos app on iPhone and tap on a voice note.

Tap on three blue dots and then tap on Share.

Tap on Mail. Now, wait a few seconds for the voice note to be attached. In the ‘To:’ field type your email address and then tap on blue send icon from top right.

Note: In step 2, you may use Gmail or any other email app installed on your iPhone.

Transfer iPhone Voice Memos to Mac Using Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, etc.

Open Voice Memos app on iPhone and tap on a voice note.

Tap on three blue dots and then tap on Share. Now from here, you may add the voice recording to Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, etc. You may also share the file on WhatsApp, iMessage, or other chat apps.

Now open the service you selected above (Dropbox, Drive, WhatsApp, etc.) on your Mac and download the voice note

How to Transfer Voice Recordings from iPhone to Mac Using iTunes

This method is not work on Mac running macOS Catalina. Because Finder has replaced iTunes in this version of macOS. And sadly, the ability to sync voice memos is no longer available in the Sync Music section on macOS Catalina. So, if you use Windows PC or earlier macOS version, read on.

Unlock the iPhone and use a proper lightning cable to connect it to Mac or PC

Now all your voice memos are transferred from iPhone to iTunes. You can see them in the Songs section. From here, you can drag and drop the voice notes to your desktop.

If you want to find all the voice notes in your hard drive:

On Windows go to this folder: C:Users(your username)MusiciTunesiTunes MediaVoice Memos

On Mac go to this folder: You Hard Disk → Users → Your Username → Music → iTunes → iTunes Media → Voice Memos.

Signing off…

So, as you can see, there are multiple ways to transfer voice memos from iPhone to Mac. Moreover, most of the methods, except the iCloud sync and AirDrop, can be used even on Windows computers.

How To Delete Multiple Contacts From Android And Iphone

Deleting one contact on Android or iPhone is quite easy. Select the contact and hit the Delete button. But what if you want to delete multiple or all contacts? Fortunately, that’s also easy once you are acquainted with the process. Let’s delve into how to delete multiple contacts on Android and iOS and how to recover deleted contacts.

Unfortunately, there is no native way to delete or select multiple contacts on iPhone and iPad. However, two workarounds exist that allow you to delete contacts in bulk on iOS and iPadOS.

1. Delete Multiple Contacts on iPhone with iCloud

With this method, you’ll need to access iCloud on a computer to delete multiple contacts from your iPhone. The idea is that if your iPhone contacts are synced to iCloud, you can delete them via iCloud’s web version from a Mac or Windows PC.

Here are the steps to do so:

On your iPhone, go to “Settings → Your Name → iCloud.”

Make sure the toggle next to “Contacts” is enabled. This will sync your contacts to iCloud so that you can mass delete them from the web version.

The selected contacts will be deleted from your iPhone and other Apple devices after some time. If the contacts aren’t deleted from your iPhone, restart and make sure the Contacts toggle under iCloud settings is enabled on your iPhone as shown in step #1.

2. Delete Multiple Contacts on iPhone Using Third-Party Apps

If you don’t have access to a computer, you can mass delete contacts directly on your iPhone using third-party apps. One of the more popular apps for doing this is Groups. Use the following steps to delete several contacts from iPhone using the Groups app.

Install the Groups app on your iPhone.

Open it and grant the necessary permissions to Contacts when asked.

Tap on “All Contacts” under the “Labels” tab or select “All contacts” from the “Groups” list at the top. depending on what shows up on your screen.

Press “Choose action” at the top and select “Delete contacts” from the menu.

A confirmation pop-up will appear. Tap on “Remove from my iPhone!”

Once deleted from your iPhone, these contacts will be removed from all connected Apple devices, such as iPad, Mac, etc.

Two more apps that you can use to mass delete contacts on iPhone are:

If you accidentally delete a contact from your iPhone or the web version of iCloud, you can easily recover it using iCloud’s web version on a PC.

You can delete multiple or all contacts on Android from your phone or the Web by following these steps.

Delete Contacts in Bulk on Android Phone

Open the Google Contacts app on your phone.

Tap on the profile picture at the top and select the account with contacts you wish to delete.

Tap on the three-dot icon at the top and choose “Select” from the menu.

Tap on the contacts one by one to select them. If you want to select all contacts, tap on the “Select all” button.

Tip: touch and hold a contact to select it, then tap the other contacts to select them.

Press the Trash icon to delete contacts from your Android phone. Tap on “Move to Trash” in the confirmation pop-up.

The selected contacts will be deleted from your phone. If they were saved on a Google account, they will be deleted from across all devices. The deleted contacts are moved to Trash, but you can recover them within 30 days.

Delete Android Contacts in Bulk on PC

Note: this method will only delete contacts saved to the particular Google account. Contacts saved in your phone’s local storage or SIM will not be deleted. Use the first method to delete them.

The deleted contact(s) will reappear in your contacts list in a bit.

Open the Google Contacts app on your phone.

Tap on the three horizontal lines icon at the top and press the “Trash” option.

Touch and hold a contact to select it, then tap on other contacts. Once the desired contacts are selected, tap on the three-dot icon and choose “Recover” from the menu.

To delete your contacts on the Samsung Contacts app, follow these steps:

Open the Samsung Contacts app on your phone.

Touch and hold one of the contacts to select it. A checkmark will appear next to the selected contacts. Tap on other contacts to select them. To select all contacts, tap on the “All” checkbox at the top.

Tap on the “Trash” icon at the bottom to delete the selected contacts.

4. Press “Move to Trash” in the confirmation pop-up window.

Launch the Samsung Contacts app.

Tap on the icon with three horizontal lines and select “Trash” from the menu.

Touch and hold a contact to select it or press the “Edit” button and select contacts.

Tap on “Restore” to recover the deleted contacts.

Frequently Asked Questions 1. I can’t find the Trash option in my Contacts app. What can I do?

The Trash option or the ability to restore deleted contacts is available in some Contacts apps only. If you don’t see the Trash or Bin option in your Contacts app, it means the feature isn’t available in the app. You need to install a contacts app that supports restoring contacts, such as Google’s Contacts app.

2. How can I easily get rid of duplicate contacts?

On Android, open the Google Contacts app, tap on the three-bar icon and select “Merge & fix.” The app will automatically detect duplicate contacts. Select the contacts to merge.

Sadly, there is no native way to easily delete multiple duplicate contacts on iPhone. You can link individual duplicate contacts by tapping on Edit contact followed by Link contacts. Alternatively, export the iPhone contacts from iCloud and add them to Google Contacts, where you can merge duplicate contacts. Later, import the final version back to iCloud.

3. Will formatting the phone delete contacts?

If the contacts are stored in your phone’s storage, then formatting the phone will delete the contacts. However, if the contacts are saved to Google, iCloud, or any other cloud storage, then a factory reset will delete the contacts from your phone but not from the cloud services. You can easily sync them back.
