Not everyone uses the English keyboard. For those who are residing in Russia, or India, most probably you are using a Russian or Tamil keyboard. The problem with using a non-English keyboard is that you have to switch the locale everytime you want to type in English. In Windows, you can do that by using the shortcut key “Ctrl + Space” or “Alt + Shift”, or simply use the mouse to change the locale in the taskbar.

LangOver is a freeware that helps you when you tried to type in one language but the result was in another. By using the hotkey F10, you’ll be able to convert your text quickly between languages.

Download and install LangOver.

By default, LangOver uses the F10 key to activate the language switch. You can also configure it to use the middle button of your mouse as well.

After the configuration, you can start using it. While typing in one language, you can quickly press F10 to translate the text and switch the keyboard setting. You can also press F6 to perform a reverse translation.

In addition to translating your text, LangOver also comes with text converting function. With the hotkey “Shift + F10”, you can toggle between upper and lowercase.

More hotkeys available in LangOver include “Ctrl + G” and “Ctrl + T” which would take the selected text and perform a search/translation in Google.


Obviously, LangOver is not meant for everyone. I used an English keyboard to type both English and Chinese words, so LangOver is not working for me. However, if you are using a non-English keyboard and need to switch between English and your native language, then LangOver could be useful. You won’t need it all the times, but when you do, it sure can save you from insanity.

How To Change The Country And Language In Amazon

Do you need to change the country and language in Amazon to shop on a regional site or just make the site more accessible if you speak a different language? Options to change these settings are available on both the desktop and mobile versions of the Amazon app.

Change Country and Language in Amazon’s Mobile App

The mobile app is what many users prefer to use when shopping on Amazon, so let’s start there.

Open the Amazon app on your mobile device. I’m using the Android version for this example.

Tap the burger icon at the bottom of the app to open the menu.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Settings.”

Tap “Country & Language.”

Start by selecting your Country/Region. Available languages will depend on the region you select.

Select any country/region you want.

Tap “Language.”

Select your language. The top section lists languages available in that specific region. However, you’ll also see a list of all languages available, though they’re only available in their respective regions. For example, when choosing Canada as your country/region, only English and French are available.

Tap “Done” when you’re finished to save your settings.

You can go back to change these settings at any time. Remember, when changing your country/region, you’ll be limited to the Amazon store and marketplaces available in that region. For instance, items that are only sold and shipped in the U.S. wouldn’t be listed if you chose the United Kingdom as your region.

Change Country and Language in Amazon on Desktop

On the desktop/browser version of Amazon, you can change the country and language in Amazon, whether you’re logged in or not: the process is the same either way.

Scroll to the bottom of the homepage. Just above the footer with all the various links, locate the two drop-down menus that list your language and country.

If you just want to change the language, skip to step 5.

Select “Go to website.”

Open your Amazon Alexa app.

Tap “Settings.”

Tap “Device Settings.”

Select your device.

Tap “Device Location” and enter a new address. This must be a valid address in your desired country/region.

Tap the back arrow in the Alexa app.

Tap your current language in the “Language” section. This is located under “Device Settings.”

Select your language.

If you change your language, Alexa will use this language and expect you to do the same.

If your car is less than 24 years old, it has a small white diagnostics port that mechanics use to analyze problems and gather data about your vehicle. But by simply pairing your smartphone with a cheap Bluetooth adapter, you can harness that power for yourself and turn your regular car into a smart car.

The plug, known as an on-board diagnostics (OBD) port, lets external devices talk to and gather data about your car. You can use it for mundane stuff like diagnosing check engine lights or gauging your fuel efficiency, but you can also do fun, fancy stuff, like tracking your car with GPS or automatically turning on the smart lights inside your house when you park at home.

What OBD is and how it works

The mandate evolved out of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards, which require vehicle manufacturers to measure and regulate emissions and the long-term maintenance of their vehicles. By the mid-1990s, built-in computers were used to monitor emissions data, so the EPA said they had to be accessible. If you live in a state where regular emissions tests are required, you may have seen an attendant plug into this port to make sure your car isn’t spewing too much toxic gas.

To use your OBD port, you’ll need a Bluetooth adapter that will connect with your phone and an app to interpret the data that comes in. If your car is stolen or you’re letting your teenager borrow it, you’ll be able to see exactly where it is at all times.
