Suggested March 2024 Langover Helps You Change Your Typing Language Easily

Not everyone uses the English keyboard. For those who are residing in Russia, or India, most probably you are using a Russian or Tamil keyboard. The problem with using a non-English keyboard is that you have to switch the locale everytime you want to type in English. In Windows, you can do that by using the shortcut key “Ctrl + Space” or “Alt + Shift”, or simply use the mouse to change the locale in the taskbar.

LangOver is a freeware that helps you when you tried to type in one language but the result was in another. By using the hotkey F10, you’ll be able to convert your text quickly between languages.

Download and install LangOver.

By default, LangOver uses the F10 key to activate the language switch. You can also configure it to use the middle button of your mouse as well.

After the configuration, you can start using it. While typing in one language, you can quickly press F10 to translate the text and switch the keyboard setting. You can also press F6 to perform a reverse translation.

In addition to translating your text, LangOver also comes with text converting function. With the hotkey “Shift + F10”, you can toggle between upper and lowercase.

More hotkeys available in LangOver include “Ctrl + G” and “Ctrl + T” which would take the selected text and perform a search/translation in Google.

Conclusion

Obviously, LangOver is not meant for everyone. I used an English keyboard to type both English and Chinese words, so LangOver is not working for me. However, if you are using a non-English keyboard and need to switch between English and your native language, then LangOver could be useful. You won’t need it all the times, but when you do, it sure can save you from insanity.

How To Change The Country And Language In Amazon

Do you need to change the country and language in Amazon to shop on a regional site or just make the site more accessible if you speak a different language? Options to change these settings are available on both the desktop and mobile versions of the Amazon app.

Tip: learn how to delete purchases from your Amazon history.

Change Country and Language in Amazon’s Mobile App

The mobile app is what many users prefer to use when shopping on Amazon, so let’s start there.

Open the Amazon app on your mobile device. I’m using the Android version for this example.

Tap the burger icon at the bottom of the app to open the menu.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Settings.”

Tap “Country & Language.”

Start by selecting your Country/Region. Available languages will depend on the region you select.

Select any country/region you want.

Tap “Language.”

Select your language. The top section lists languages available in that specific region. However, you’ll also see a list of all languages available, though they’re only available in their respective regions. For example, when choosing Canada as your country/region, only English and French are available.

Tap “Done” when you’re finished to save your settings.

You can go back to change these settings at any time. Remember, when changing your country/region, you’ll be limited to the Amazon store and marketplaces available in that region. For instance, items that are only sold and shipped in the U.S. wouldn’t be listed if you chose the United Kingdom as your region.

Tip: save money while shopping with these smart Amazon hacks.

Change Country and Language in Amazon on Desktop

On the desktop/browser version of Amazon, you can change the country and language in Amazon, whether you’re logged in or not: the process is the same either way.

Browse to chúng tôi or your desired regional version.

Scroll to the bottom of the homepage. Just above the footer with all the various links, locate the two drop-down menus that list your language and country.

If you just want to change the language, skip to step 5.

Select “Go to website.”

Once you’re in the correct region, scroll to the bottom of the homepage on your region’s website and select your language.

Alternately, if you just want to change the language on Amazon, hover over your country/region’s flag just to the right of the search box and select your desired language. As you can see, there’s a shortcut to change the country/region here too.

Tip: get good deals by tracking Amazon price drops.

Change Country and Language in Amazon Alexa

Your Amazon Alexa device defaults to the country and language that match your current location and IP address. Although you can adjust this, some users report that changing the location doesn’t always work correctly.

Open your Amazon Alexa app.

Tap the “More” icon at the bottom right of the app.

Tap “Settings.”

Tap “Device Settings.”

Select your device.

Tap “Device Location” and enter a new address. This must be a valid address in your desired country/region.

Tap the back arrow in the Alexa app.

Tap your current language in the “Language” section. This is located under “Device Settings.”

Select your language.

If you change your language, Alexa will use this language and expect you to do the same.

Keyboard double typing is a relatively common issue that can arise on Windows 11/10 PCs. Double typing is when keyboards register double (multiple) characters when users try to input single letters.

For instance, one of our readers complained that his keyboard is repeating the E key when he types it.

Does a similar thing happen when you word process on your keyboard? Here are some primarily Windows 11 solutions that can feasibly fix double typing.

Why is my keyboard repeating what I type?

Double typing more commonly arises on mechanical keyboards. It can be caused by dirty mechanical keyboard switches. Users have confirmed cleaning switches for affected keys can resolve double typing.

However, there are other causes for double typing. For instance, this issue can arise for keyboards with faulty or outdated drivers. So, reinstalling keyboard drivers may also help.

The issue can also sometimes be due to keyboard settings. Some users may need to adjust overly high Repeat rate and delay keyboard settings.

How do I fix a double typing keyboard on Windows 11? 1. Run Windows 11’s keyboard troubleshooter

There are various ways you can update a keyboard’s driver. Check out Windows Report’s guide to updating device drivers in Windows 11 for further details about how to update them.

Driver updater tools like Outbyte Driver Updaterprovide an easy solution. This tool will check if your keyboard drivers are bad or outdated and will make sure they are running their latest version.

5. Clean keyboard switches on mechanical keyboards Can you reset the keyboard on Windows 11?

Windows 11 doesn’t have any specific reset keyboard option you can select for that purpose.

However, you can reset the keyboard to a default layout if you’ve installed multiple language packs like this.

We hope one of those resolutions fixes your keyboard’s double typing. Cleaning key switches, updating drivers for keyboards, and the Keyboard Chattering Fix software can resolve many cases of that issue.

If those possible solutions don’t fix the double typing, there could be a hardware issue with the keyword.

You can return a keyboard still within its warranty period to its manufacturer for uncharged repairs.

How One Bluetooth Adapter Can Change The Way You Use Your Car

The on-board diagnostics (OBD) port isn’t just for your mechanic. Deposit Photos

If your car is less than 24 years old, it has a small white diagnostics port that mechanics use to analyze problems and gather data about your vehicle. But by simply pairing your smartphone with a cheap Bluetooth adapter, you can harness that power for yourself and turn your regular car into a smart car.

The plug, known as an on-board diagnostics (OBD) port, lets external devices talk to and gather data about your car. You can use it for mundane stuff like diagnosing check engine lights or gauging your fuel efficiency, but you can also do fun, fancy stuff, like tracking your car with GPS or automatically turning on the smart lights inside your house when you park at home.

What OBD is and how it works

The mandate evolved out of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards, which require vehicle manufacturers to measure and regulate emissions and the long-term maintenance of their vehicles. By the mid-1990s, built-in computers were used to monitor emissions data, so the EPA said they had to be accessible. If you live in a state where regular emissions tests are required, you may have seen an attendant plug into this port to make sure your car isn’t spewing too much toxic gas.

Choose your adapter

To use your OBD port, you’ll need a Bluetooth adapter that will connect with your phone and an app to interpret the data that comes in. Basic adapters are cheap—often under $30—but more expensive ones come with many useful extra features. Like the phones they pair with, there are countless options available, but here are a few to get you started:

The bare-bones option: This adapter from BAFX uses a simple Bluetooth connection and doesn’t come with an app of its own. You can, however, pair it with an app like Dash to analyze check engine codes or gauge your fuel efficiency. This and some other cheaper adapters rely solely on your car’s battery, which can drain some vehicles if you leave the adapter plugged in and don’t drive the car enough. These are ideal if you want to keep an adapter in your glove compartment, but don’t need it all the time.

The always-connected option: This adapter from OBLink provides a more complete OBD experience without breaking the bank. It automatically shuts off when not in use, so you won’t risk draining your car’s battery. The company also makes its own basic app to access data, including fuel efficiency and diagnostic codes. It doesn’t come with fancier features like GPS tracking or a cell connection, but it provides a little more peace of mind than cheaper adapters if you want to leave it in all the time.

For the most part, OBD adapters work with any car, but some hybrids or electric vehicles may not support certain adapters. Be sure to check and make sure your car is compatible before you buy.

What you can do

Depending on the adapter you get, there’s a range of fun things you can do with it. We’ll go over a few and describe the type of adapter you’ll need for each one.

1. Find out what’s wrong with your car: When your check engine light comes on, the reason could be one of literally thousands of potential problems. To find out which it is, plug in your OBD adapter and use an app like Dash to find out exactly what’s wrong. In Dash, make sure your OBD adapter is connected—you may need to tap the blue Connect button in the center of the bottom navigation bar—then tap the car icon in the bottom left corner of the screen to see the cars you’ve registered with the app. Select the car in question (if you have more than one), and tap Engine Alerts to see information on what went wrong, what parts are needed to fix it, and how much a repair usually costs. It also links to RepairPal to help you find someone who can assist.

2. Locate your car with GPS: Some adapters have built-in GPS that can log your car’s location and send it to your phone. This alone can be useful; if you can’t remember where you parked, for example. However, when paired with cell service, like in Automatic’s adapter, it can relay your car’s location even when the vehicle is away from home. If your car is stolen or you’re letting your teenager borrow it, you’ll be able to see exactly where it is at all times.

3. Improve your driving habits: Did you know you can get better gas mileage if you drive a little differently? Many of us slam the gas pedal down at the first sign of open road, only to brake when we near another car, then accelerate hard all over again. Apps like Dash can tell you how you’re driving and even grade your performance behind the wheel after each trip. This can be handy for teaching new drivers good habits early on. At the end of each trip, you’ll be able to see a precise dollar figure for how much the trip cost you, so if you want to save some money or need to log the expense for work, you’ll have the information you need.

4. Connect to your smart home: Automatic is one of the few OBD adapters that works directly with simple programming services like IFTTT, which makes it an ideal candidate to handle your smart lights. You can use formulas like this one to automatically turn on your Philips Hue (or other) smart lights when you’re parked at home. If you have a smart garage door opener, you can program it to automatically close as soon as you turn your car off, too

How Microsoft Bookings Helps Customers Book Meetings

Microsoft Bookings helps your customers schedule appointments.

Scheduling can be a significant pain point for businesses in all industries. Application scheduling software can cut through the noise.

Microsoft Bookings looks like high-end software, but it’s affordable, especially if your company already uses Microsoft 365 Business Premium or Business Standard, or Office 365.

This article is for business owners considering implementing Microsoft Bookings as a scheduling tool.

A business thrives when customers can easily connect with company representatives. For a service shop, consultancy, accounting firm or any business that relies on set meetings with customers, your scheduling process can make or break your revenue. Customers want an easy way to schedule time with a consultant, technician or other expert because their time is valuable.

Microsoft Bookings is a scheduling tool that can improve communication with your customers by facilitating their connections with employees who can help them. Here’s a look at how Microsoft Bookings works and what you need to know to get started.

What is Microsoft Bookings?

Microsoft Bookings is an app that helps customers schedule meetings directly with companies.

According to Statista, approximately 319.6 billion emails are sent and received daily. Experts predict the number will be closer to 376.4 billion by 2025. Microsoft created Bookings to cut through the noise and red tape of all these messages; it aims to help businesses better serve their customers and improve customer retention.

Microsoft Bookings benefits

Microsoft representatives told us that many small and midsize companies still use a whiteboard in an office to communicate about schedules, mainly because it tends to work. A few other tools are available, and smaller companies sometimes use Microsoft Excel.

Microsoft Bookings provides a specialized alternative that can boost customer engagement while providing an essential service. Here’s a look at what sets Microsoft Bookings apart from other scheduling tools.

Clarity: The most significant benefit of Microsoft Bookings is clarity. Customers see a simple website that allows them to book a meeting, reschedule an appointment, and receive email reminders. Internally, there is one place that shows every employee all scheduled meetings. In fact, you might find it easier to schedule the Bookings appointments on behalf of customers because all employees can check the same calendar.

Easy integration: You can run Bookings as a stand-alone tool or embed the app in your company website, making it look like you coded the scheduler yourself. Microsoft lets you add custom branding to create a consistent look and feel. You can add custom fields, such as an alternate email for the customer or whether a down payment is required.

Real-time updates: Customers can see real-time appointment availability. If someone snags a time while another person tries to decide, the system updates so you don’t get double-booked.

Automate confirmations and reminders: As machines become smarter and more companies look for ways to automate repetitive tasks, tools such as Bookings save business owners time and effort. The program sends email confirmations and reminders, so you don’t waste precious time on something fully integrated with your calendar.

Key Takeaway

Microsoft Bookings is fast and straightforward to use, and it’s a proactive customer service tool for all careers and industries. Customers can set appointments, cancel meetings or make other adjustments without you lifting a finger.

Features of Microsoft Bookings

All scheduling software has some similarities. To understand how easy MS Bookings is to use, sign up for a free trial of Microsoft 365 Business Premium or Business Standard so you can check out the scheduling tool. If it isn’t for you, cancel before the month is up to avoid being charged. Of course, if you already have Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Business Standard, or Office 365, the program is readily available.

Here’s what some of the platform’s best features will allow you to do:

Offer roles for users so you can give your team the correct permissions based on their position in your company. For example, a Team Member can view and edit their calendar, but no one else’s.

Customize your page with your logo and brand colors.

See a full calendar with multiple staff member appointments.

Keep a client database.

Be responsive to mobile devices.

Microsoft Bookings does have a few limitations; it can be difficult to reschedule, for example. The Business Premium version of 365 offers the most flexibility. This software works well for salons and spas.

Did You Know?

Microsoft Bookings can sync appointments with central calendars, such as Google Calendar.
