Sea of Thieves, one of the most hotly anticipated multiplayer games of 2023, has finally arrived on both the Xbox One and Windows 10. Rare, the game’s developer, first announced Sea of Thieves at E3 2023, which was supposed to launch last year. However, the game has finally sailed out on Windows 10 and the Xbox One this March. This is a new swashbuckling multiplayer extravaganza in which players embark on pirate quests to plunder loot and treasure stowed away on deserted islands.

Sea of Thieves has been under development for a few years with Rare launching an Insider Programme to get some player feedback for it. Mr Neate, the executive producer at Rare, stated: “We’ve taken a unique approach with Sea of Thieves, from launching our Insider Programme in December 2023, where we invited our first 1,000 players into the first Technical Alpha, through a series of Alpha tests, our Closed Beta and Scale Tests, to the recent Final Beta where everyone was given the opportunity to play. We have worked with our community throughout this process.”

Now Sea of Thieves is finally out, you can engage in some swashbuckling action in both player vs. player and co-operative game modes. Players can select to play solo or in crews of two to four pirates that navigate through choppy seas to islands where they can plunder the loot. Thus, the multiplayer battles take place on both land and sea.

The game is retailing at $59.99 for both Windows 10 and Xbox One. Note that this is a Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means you can play it on both Xbox One and Windows 10 with a digital purchase. Furthermore, multiplayer battles are not just restricted to their respective platforms either; so you can take on Windows 10 players while playing Sea of Thieves on Xbox One.

Google Clips available now – but AI camera isn’t impressing reviewers [Updated]

Google Clips, the company’s smart camera, is finally shipping, though whether it’s worth spending $249 on an AI to take your photos seems to be questionable. Announced last year alongside the Pixel 2, the standalone camera promises to use the same smarts that power Google Photos to snap stills and short videos of the entertaining things that kids and pets do to earn their keep, allowing you to stay in the moment in the process.

To do that, the deceptively simple Clips hardware calls upon some clever AI technology. The camera itself is little more than a small teal and white box with a lens on the front – which you twist to turn the whole thing on or off – and a button underneath it. You can manually trigger a photo, but the idea is that Clips makes those decisions itself.

The camera can either figure out what’s important itself: Google says it’ll prioritize smiles and action, and gradually learn to take more photos of the people it sees frequently. Alternatively, given access to some of the face metadata from your existing Google Photos account, you can jump-start the process by showing it who you think is most important. Clips can’t actually upload directly to the gallery service itself, mind; it needs to transfer shots to the companion app on your iPhone, Pixel, or Galaxy S7/S8 via Bluetooth and WiFi Direct first.

That process sounds moderately clunky, but serviceable, and does at least allow for some editing first. It’s also the first opportunity to see what Clips has captured, since the camera itself has no screen or even a way to frame the scene. That would presumably have sapped the 3-4 hours of active battery life even more.

The seven-second videos Clips captures are actually strings of photos, linked together into GIFs, short video files, or iOS Live Photos. You can extract a single frame from them as a regular image, or alternatively trim them down. There’s no sound, as Clips lacks a microphone, but the editing process has generally been well received.

What hasn’t gone down so well is the results of Clips’ efforts. For a start, while it packs 12-megapixels it uses a fixed-focus lens to ensure as much of the action is in focus as possible, The 130-degree lens is similarly broad-minded, which will have an impact on framing, and is f/2.4. Unfortunately, the photos and videos Clips actually captures aren’t exactly impressing reviewers.

“Your subjects also have to be within roughly 10 feet of the camera, lest they be tiny in the resulting image,” The Verge points out. “But the Clips’ fixed-focus lens has a range of about three feet to infinity, so nothing close to the camera is ever sharp.” The limitations of the sensor and lens because of that attempt to suit every situation are clear: “Images come back grainy and motion is blurry,” TechCrunch complains.

Trying to work around its foibles ends up becoming a chore in itself, indeed. “It’s designed to be used in such a specific way that it was difficult to find moments when using Clips was better than just pulling out my phone and snapping a photo,” TIME concludes, fairly damningly.

The positive thing about Clips is that, just as Google Photos has improved over time, Google could presumably also improve the AI at the controls of its tiny standalone camera. Whether that would ever be enough to justify the lackluster optics, however, remains to be seen. If you’re willing to take the chance, you can order Clips for $249 today.

Update: Google has reached out, eager that we recognize that not everybody had a middling experience with Clips. Sure enough, Wired describes the short video loops as “fun” and “easy to share” though wishes they were smoother, and ZDNet praises the battery life and, though the resolution and tendency to blur motion still come in for criticism, reports that they did get some video which they were pleased with the content of in the end. In short, Clips sounds like it could be fun though probably isn’t going to replace any other camera you have (nor, really, does Google suggest it will) and it’s down to you to decide if that’s worth the $249 sticker price.

If you have an Xbox One, you may have encountered the dreaded Double NAT detected error and wondering how you can fix it. We’re not going to lie, the fix is not exactly easy to apply, especially if you lack patience and are not tech-savvy.

However, we’ll do our best to make sure our instructions are clear and well-received. If you follow our instructions, at the end of the article you should have an Open NAT, which is ideal for Xbox consoles.

What is Double NAT?

A Double NAT situation spawns whenever you find yourself behind two private networks, technically speaking. If your ISP insists on using proprietary router devices, and you add a second router, you’re probably behind a Double NAT.

This may sound sophisticated, but trust us it isn’t. We’ll try to simplify it a little: basically, each router creates its own private network.

Your Xbox One is connected to the second router, most likely. However, your second router is on the network of the first router, which has different ground rules. So, you could say your Xbox One has to get past two firewalls in order to access certain services.

While having a double NAT sounds bad, it actually means a bit more security for your setup. But you don’t care much about security, you just want to play on your Xbox One, don’t you?

We’ll teach you how to get rid of the Double NAT detected error in no time.

Before we start, we have to clarify something. Many suggest that a VPN can get you rid of your Double NAT situation, but there’s a lot of confusion regarding that subject.

A consumer-grade VPN such as Private Internet Access will do nothing in your situation. You’d actually have to use a VPS, or configure your own VPN server and forward a bunch of ports, which is needlessly complicated for what you’re trying to achieve.

How to fix double NAT on Xbox one 1. Set gateway to Bridge mode

3. In your router’s configuration menu, look after a Bridge Mode option

4. Enable Bridge Mode

5. Restart your gateway and Xbox One

For once, make sure you access the router that’s closer to the Internet. Enabling Bridge Mode on the router you’ve connected your Xbox One to will do nothing to aid your situation.

However, most ISP-assigned routers lack this Bridge Mode feature. If that’s the case, you may want to call your ISP and ask them if they can do that for you. Usually, they’ll be glad to help you and it doesn’t involve them sending a crew over.

2. Remove your ISP router

Physically remove your router’s ISP from the network, or whichever one of them has a weaker performance. Unplug the cable from your router’s WAN port, and plug it into your own router.

Connect your Xbox One to the newly Internet-enabled router, and you should no longer see the Double Nat error.

Note that some ISP providers are quite insistent with their routers/modems, so you might not be able to just yank it out and expect things to work. If that’s the case, go back to step 1.

Furthermore, if you have fiber optics Internet, your personal router may not have a built-in converter. This also means that you can’t just remove the ISP router from the picture.

3. Set your router to AP mode

Navigate to your router’s (not gateway) address in a browser

Log into your router’s management page

Locate something resembling your router’s operation mode

Change it from Router to AP (Access Point)

Restart your router and Xbox One

An Access Point (AP) is essentially used to extend the wireless range of a network. Depending on the model of your router, setting it to AP mode may also allow you to connect to it through an Ethernet cable.

However, note that this option could disable certain features on your router. For instance, QoS, NAT, and Parental Controls may no longer be available, so you’ll have to live with that.

All things considered, if you get the Double NAT detected error on your Xbox One, don’t fret, as there is hope for you yet. Double NAT usually appears whenever there is more than one router on a network.

PUBG is the battle royale shooter in the class of its own. We can’t say with certainty, but there has never been a game which can evoke so much love and hate at the same time.

Love for the impeccable concept, and hate for the underwhelming execution. Xbox One version came out first and it, seemingly, works better than a PC version.

However, there are some issues which are not glitches or bugs. Some users are unable to launch the game on Xbox One after the update.

1: Reset the console

4: Stop Game Sharing

This procedure is rather simple. The only thing you should do is sign-in on your console with your account and choose your console as Home.

In addition, don’t forget that you have yearly limitations on Game Sharing.

5: Reinstall the game
